I looked at placing an order from Germany yesterday: supermarket24 have removed UK from their list of countries that that will ship to, web-bier have a note saying (rough translation) "Dear British beer connoisseurs, It looks like there can be unlimited deliveries to you even after Brexit. But...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

My order from supermarket24 placed on 7th Dec arrived in two parcels, the first (6 bottles) on Wed 16th and the second (24 bottles) on Thur 17th. Not an unreasonable time especially at this time of year. Lovely beers so I'm happy. The packaging of the 24 bottles was not great, several bottles...

Wow that is far better service than I've ever had from them, excellent. Yes their packaging is superb, I've never had a broken bottle (not even on my first order with them when the box arrived showing signs of having been dropped somewhere in transit) Enjoy the beers !

It's usually Marco that e-mails. I'll be really interested to hear how you get on, how did you actually place the order?

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

gibbo-sd: Thanks for the suggestion of supermarket24, I've just placed an order with them so will wait and see how it goes. I was interested to find out how they calculate shipping and by playing around putting various things in and out of the online shopping basket I discovered they charge...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Further to my earlier answer about duty and VAT: I just checked, the government website and it states "....from 1st January 2021...........you need to pay customs duties and VAT on all imports" For "beer made from malt in bottles holding <=10l" (commodity code 2203 0001) the duty rate stays...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

No customs or VAT to pay, this was at least the 5th time I've bought direct from Germany and have never had to pay duty or VAT................but of course things are probably going to be different after Br***t is done next year. By the way, do also check out web-bier , less choice but much...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Generally I don't and to be honest I've been using some of my bottles for years without changing the ring. One or two have not felt tight when clipping them shut so I do then change the ring.

Samale: That price was for 30 bottles, it was a mixture of various styles and as mentioned some were 330ml and some 500ml The shipping cost is fixed for 30 bottles regardless of the size. I just checked, their website says Euros 13.79 for Ireland.

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

I don't mind you asking at all but you may have more expensive tastes than me! Total including shipping was Euros 58.33 which Paypal converted to £54.97 (I've not yet tried any of the cheaper Euro payment methods suggested by others earlier in this thread. My box was a mixture of 500ml and...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Just a quick update on buying from Biermarket.de It's still quite a painful process but at least it has got cheaper! For my most recent order I tried their new way of sending an order by clicking a button to send a screenshot of the shopping cart. When I had no response for over a week I...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Thanks to the generosity of many people (some from this forum, special thanks to the generous anonymous donor from here yesterday!) dad has now gone through his revised target of £500 so has revised it upwards to £750. He has now walked 26 times (on 23 days so sometimes walks more than once a...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Dad is now up to £430 towards his revised target of £500 (Which I think he will soon revise upwards) and he was very excited to see that justgiving put a link to his effort on their Captain Tom page. It's incredible to think that dad was literally at death's door a few weeks ago and is now doing...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Hi All, First I want to make it clear I have asked the admins and they have given me permission to post this. I nearly lost my 90 year old dad a few weeks ago but he made a remarkable recovery and is now back home from hospital but very weak and a bit depressed. To pick himself up and help...
