    Cleaning pressure barrel

Newbie here and the time has come to clean my pressure barrel for the first time ready for the next brew. It's one of the cheap Youngs barrels and I've filled it with warm water and the youngs cleaner to soak over night. Question is, am I best just leaving the tap on afterwards or should I be...

Taking a reading from the FV

I use a big syringe with a tube on. Take the cap off my airlock and put the tube through there and draw off a sample. Never have to lift the lid then. I'm new to all this but it should minimise risks I hope!

Woodfordes Nog help, no airlock action

Well I couldn't hold off any longer so took a gravity reading using my newly developed syringe and tube through the airlock so as not to have to lift the lid. Looks like it's down to 1012 in 3 days! started at 1040ish. Didn't expect that. I'll take another reading Friday.

    Chemsan let dry or not

Hi, new to this home brewing. I plan to bottle my first brew the weekend and I have some Chemsan no rinse. Instructions say to let it dry but I know it's supposed to be just like Starsan. I've seen you can use Starsan and just fill your bottles after sanitising with no need to dry. Anyone...
