Is the Meghan Interview with Oprah a big deal in the UK? Is/was Oprah Winfrey a big celeb with you folks?

I had hoped that I was clear with my OP that I just wanted to know if the interview was as big a deal (or more so) as it was here. It was just a none-too-serious question to get an idea of US/UK opinion on the interview's interest factor. I refer to the UK folks here as sample of an opinion...

You are stuck in quarantine with only one bottled beer (which would be your choice)

Since this thread is over two days old and my memory only goes back one, I'll answer (possibly again): Dragonmead Final Absolution. Local, Detroit brewery and that beer is a Tripel.

Is the Meghan Interview with Oprah a big deal in the UK? Is/was Oprah Winfrey a big celeb with you folks?

It was a pretty large event here, some beans spilled. I just found out that she's a movie star and not a simple Caucasian ( thought she looked Italian, maybe?). Full disclosure: the totality of my knowledge comes from watching a Stephen Colbert monologue about her and Prince (?) Harry. There's...

    Gold Statue at Conservative Conference

I believe he only teased the idea. Since I cannot stomach watching him live, I'll have to read the transcript or catch a clip.

    Gold Statue at Conservative Conference

I think I've seen everything now. This statue of the former US president is on prominent display at the yearly Republican conference. There have been a few who've connected the dots between the golden calf from the Bible and that statue.

    What's ya cost saver?

Just brewing at home is my cost-saver. Instead of $4 dollars per beer, I pay $1 per beer. I don't have specific techniques like have been mentioned. I don't save yeast or reuse anything. I guess I save the water that would go in the drain and use it outside but that's it.

    First beer brew !

Everything that happened isn't unusual. If you wanted to get 21l (for example) adjust your recipe and volume to account. By being gentle and not disturbing the trub, you'll get less of it moving around. +1 on setting the FV where you'll be siphoning from ahead of time. Also, congratulations!

    Bottled of tap water

I'm fine using tap water but for convenience/speed, I'll buy 3 gallons of spring water (.$.79 each) that I can get near freezing which makes hitting my pitching temperature easy when topping up to five gallons (19l think it is).

    IBUs not adding up...

Since I doubt you'd want to adjust your method of adding hops or batch size, trying fiddling around with "when" you add the hops.

    Help/advice

If no proven leaks, up a few degrees for a week and then check progress. I wouldn't add more sugar personally.

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

The slipperiness of the wealthy criminal is, at once, astounding and depressing.

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

I hadn't heard that one. Based on John Lewis (deceased Congressman and Civil Rights leader) mentioning the same in an article of his (NYT in 2000), I can see how it was used to mock men and demean them, not to mention prohibiting them from voting. Because of the electoral college used here and...

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

In the US, Public Broadcasting System gets less money from advertisers. PBS, as a result, televised all of the impeachment trial, whereas, the other four major ones had to pay the bills and show scheduled programming. FOX said they were carrying the trial but every time I checked (tons), they...

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

First, I do have a healthy suspicion of the media and politicians. I hope they do what's best but people are people. One thing I forgot to include which sheds light on how closely Trump was supported by FOX News is that many of their anchors openly supported Trump and the Republican party by...

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

I just want to make another, long comment on the "accuracy" of the news media where some of these illogical views, made above, originate. FOX and OANN are the least offensive of the very offensive but complicit in spreading disinformation. I'm not harping on small infractions--some deceitful...

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

Me too. I wish I could do more than speculate but I would guess it would easily have gotten 67 votes of "guilty." Anyone on the Republican side (conservative) is getting backlash/censured for stepping out of line. And this isn't just by some voters, this is by state governments done offiicially...

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

Okay, back to the drawing board for me--compare BBC's rep with what I observe. Thanks!

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

I had to politely put a couple folks here on "Ignore." I can get that nonsense on FOX's website Comment section. In any case, Senator McConnell decided to play both sides of the ball. To reiterate, if an impeachable offense occurs the day before a POTUS leaves office, what do you do if not...

Impeachment trial on TV in the UK

I had no idea. I could be confusing it with another. I've been fooled! Oh, well.
