    Another Energy Source

Installed mine in 2009 contract to supply electricity to the grid until 2024.

    Head retention.

I have shaken hands with a man who shook hands with the man who shook the world. On a serious note, carapils and slow low temperature conditioning will do the trick. But you still need a clean glass.

Just get solar panels, the electricity company buys my unused electricity as it goes into the grid.

    Elections.

When he got elected as party leader I forecast he wouldn't do any good, he looks weak and acts weak. What you want is a Paul Keating, some one who can dish it out in parliament.

    Elections.

No leadership, no direction. Time to throw the towel in and let the Torys run the country unaposed. Be a lot better off.

    Brewster Beacon 40 query

It isn't the filter, it is the cylinder which is out of shape. Thin s/steel with a seam weld not going to get a perfect round shape. For the price they are OK, you live with it, before long you won't even be using the top screen, even the overflow pipe will probably get the Tijuana.

Sparging slowly reduces the risk of channeling and increases efficiency it reduces washing tannins into the wort too. A sparge should take around an hour or more depending on the volume of sparge water. One of the reasons I 'no sparge'

    Brewster Beacon 40 query

The increments on the side are allowing for 2 litres dead space. If I mash into 32 litres I fill up to the 30 litre mark. I like to keep everything as simple as possible. No O/P no sparge, too many people make to much fuss over efficiency. It isn't about getting the highest number possible it's...

Thebottom screen is the right way round, that is the lock in screen, different to the early models. The length of the O/P could be the same size fits all, 40 to 70 litre. If you don't lose 3 litres in the boil you are not boiling hard enough. Read O'Rourkes artical, 'the reason for the boil'

I'm pretty sure fermentation has failed. Should I pitch more yeast?

Don't aerate, there is no need. And it is detrimental to aerate after a yeast has been pitched for more than 12 hours. Before doing anything take a gravity reading. So4 is normally pretty reliable.

I'm pretty sure fermentation has failed. Should I pitch more yeast?

Whatever you do, do not aerate now! If you add more yeast either sprinkle or rehydrate. And take a gravity reading before doing anything.

What do we think about the whole independence thing in general?

There is strength in unity. If all the Irish north and south are in agreeance thats fine. Splitting a small island nation does not make sense. Like saying Yorkshire or Lancashire wanted there own government. I just can't see any benefit.

    Peter Kays brother

Our bacon here is crap compared to British and American bacon. I think the brother of Peter Kay will eat his way into an early grave. Such a waste when you can drink your way into an early grave far cheaper.

    So who's growing chillies 2021?

I ended up making candied Jalapeno, just about ready to try. Dried the Cayenne and will just transplant my Birds Eye to a sheltered spot.

    IBU and fermenting under pressure.

Could it be astringency? I never noticed any difference when I was pressure fermenting to none pressure ferments.

    Conversion rate and efficiency

It was thought to, but the general concensus now is that it doesn't increase tannin I put a weight on my grain of about 15-20 kg to squeeze extra wort out.
