    Lager with Maris Otter?

@An Ankoù Some good suggestions there and I never considered lagering a Summer lightning, so many potential brews to do, I can't keep up with the drinking wink...

    Lager with Maris Otter?

Interesting, I would never have thought of making a lager with Fuggles even though it is one of my favourite hops for bitter. I have some Saaz but probably not enough for the whole brew, I wonder of the hops I have, which do you think may compliment the Saaz? Fuggles First Gold Jester EKG...

    Lager with Maris Otter?

Thanks I will give that a go, I don't have those hops but have a few Saaz left that should do the job . Thats true, I have some WLP800 sitting in my teast fridge if I can revitalise it I will use that, needs to be kept a bit cooler 10-13C but I can ferment in the fridge and then I have a stone...

    Suggest some hops please.

Brew 2 would suit Jester I think, or First Gold/Jester combination is nice

    Lager with Maris Otter?

Thanks I would like to see that and might tempt me to avoid tying my fridge up for a couple of months.

    Lager with Maris Otter?

Yes a bit more flavour I think, I do have temp control and have made one Czech Pilsner but the fridge was tied up for so long that it seemed a bit of a hassle even though I have 2 fermentation fridges. It was very nice though coming from a non lager drinker, I guess when you have laboured over...

Yes I do have a couple of kilos of Vienna, that's a great idea.

    Lager with Maris Otter?

I was thinking of making a lager, in the Pilsner style but can't be bothered with ordering Pilsner malt right now, how do you think it would taste brewed with MO and using a Pilsner yeast and otherwise brewed with full Diacetyl rest and lagering? Just a bit stronger/biscuity in flavour? Maybe...

    foxbat's brewdays

Sorry, I didn't mean I used both at the same time though I can see how you concluded that, I meant I have used both on separate occasions.

    foxbat's brewdays

As well as gelatin I also use Chitosan, this has always been very effective when bottling but I must try it in the keg as well as that is what it is for I believe.

    foxbat's brewdays

Thanks, I have stopped cold crashing and not used Gelatin since, I may give this a try on my next brew, how much to a corny are you using?

    foxbat's brewdays

Are you kegging to Cornies? I am interested in your process because I have only used Gelatin in the FV during cold crash, do you get much sediment? Also what is Clear-IT and when do you choose to use it and why?

How many litres have you brewed individually

    Ever, or this year?

    Pre 95 Boddingtons anyone ?

Interesting, my cleaning regime is also pretty meticulous and yet I have had some gushers of late, my IPA is only fit for the drain and my Adnams Broadside which was a beautiful drink I was saving for Christmas has gone that way, at least the one I tried has. I am kegging more these days in...

    Airlock required?

This I think is the critical bit, so far as I have read, people often say you don't need an airlock referring to Yorkshire squares, but the yeast they used gave a nice protective layer, and afaik they were more careful once it went into secondary. Having said that so long as you protect it as...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Should I hang my head in shame? My excuse was I was driving and it is snowing and I didn't want anything sweet. I have to say it was pretty awful.
  18. Galena

    Snow.

Was without power for 12 hours yesterday and many of the roads were blocked, mainly due to drifting as it catches the wind on the tops, some due to poor driving skills by some drivers. View from my garden

    Pre 95 Boddingtons anyone ?

From the '93 Ed. of Brew your own real ale at home by Grahem Wheeler and Roger Protz A remarkable, light, golden bitter, a fine quenching session beer from Boddongton's Strangeway Brewery, Manchester. Flinty dryness in the mouth, long, hard finish with hop bitterness and tart fruit. OG: 1035...
