    Verdant Putty

I don't think they published the Putty recipe (I know that Lightbulb and Sharks is available though). I saw an interview with James from Verdant on The Craft Beer Channel where they say they do no dry hopping during active fermentation - they chill it down to 12 or so and hop then. I think my...

    NEIPA - Chalky Aftertaste?

So, an update on this one. I think this off-taste was a result of dry hopping for too long. I made an all Columbus hop IPA over Christmas and left the dry hops in the Fermzilla for a week whilst it cooled and I've got the same taste. Is it possible this is a result of getting unwanted flavours...

Can this tap be connected to a ball lock disconnect?

Ahh I thought as much. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

Can this tap be connected to a ball lock disconnect?

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I bought some 5L SS Minikegs from Geterbrewed early last year - I initially purchased this alongside three 5L kegs: Beer Tap Dispenser Kit 0-60psi for SS Mini Kegs I have switched to ball lock spears so I can do closed transfers from my Fermzilla All Rounder, so...

New Pump - Best Hose Fittings?

Thanks for the feedback! I thought as much, but wanted to make sure as the quick disconnects are quite pricey. I managed to find a quick disconnect kit on Aliexpress that is quite good value. The Aliexpress shop sell quite a lot of decently priced stuff too, so this might spiral whilst I'm at it...

How many litres of home brew have you made 2021.

A sneaky NYE brew done today - 19 litres. Takes me to nearly 300 litres for the year. New total: 29,826 - that's just over 52,510 pints :D

New Pump - Best Hose Fittings?

Hi there, I've just ordered a pump off Aliexpress to hopefully boost my brewing game. Recirculate the mash, whirlpool, maybe get a hopback... But I'm not sure what fittings to get for the tubing. To anyone that has a similar pump, I was wondering what the consensus is. Are hose barbs with clips...

Recommend books for all grain brewing.

I've recently bought Brewing Classic Styles: 80 Winning Recipes Anyone Can Brew by Jamil Zainasheff and John Palmer - it's good because it runs through a load of beer styles, recommendations for the style, tips on making your own recipe along with a recommended recipe. Interesting to have on...

    Re-Hydrating Yeast

We should have a poll on this shouldn't we haha! Would be interesting to see the results!

Dry Hop Tea? Fermzilla All Rounder

Out of interest, how hot was the water when you added the hops? Wow... I don't want to add 10 litres of water to my 22-litre batch hahaha! I have 80g of hops to play with. I've tried opening on another batch - it wasn't oxidised, but as the beer is carbonated in the fermenter at this stage due...

Dry Hop Tea? Fermzilla All Rounder

Hi there, I currently have my Christmas NEIPA in the Fermzilla - it has nearly fermented to FG (if not already hit FG). I did a dry hop charge at yeast pitch and the beer is tasting nice and hoppy, but I want to boost it during cold crashing with a further dry hop charge, but I don't want to...

    Re-Hydrating Yeast

I think it's a preference and dependent on your setup tbh! I've been using the crossmyloof yeasts and the instructions for those say you get more professional results rehydrating prior to pitching, which is why I started doing it. I've definitely noticed better results. I know Fermentis did a...

    Re-Hydrating Yeast

I started rehydrating about three brews ago. Helps cut lag time and I must say it seems to give cleaner results for my setup!

    NEIPA Yeast Recommendations

Just seen this thread - I'm also planning a Christmas NEIPA. I have a Fermzilla All Rounder for pressure fermentation - I'm planning to use the CML Clipper yeast for the first time (which Steve at CML has told me is similar to London Ale III/Conan). Previously though, I have had good success...

I haven't, but this sounds interesting. I'm tuning into this thread!

    New CML yeasts announced!

Interesting! I spoke to Steven about this yeast today and he said it's similar to London Ale III, so I've ordered some for a New England Pale I plan to make. Has anyone else used Clipper?

Fermzilla All Rounder - £49:50 at Get Er Brewed

Oh cool - what's your method with it? Don't tempt me... It's Christmas and my partner will kill me hahahaha :P

Fermzilla All Rounder - £49:50 at Get Er Brewed

So - I thought I'd share my experiences after 5 or 6 fermentations with this bad boy! I've found the best results come from letting ales start fermentation with no pressure, setting the spunding valve to 10 psi for a day or so after fermentation starts, and then ramping up to 20 to 25 psi...
