    Texas shooting 19 dead.

What is the drinking age, out of curiosity?

    Texas shooting 19 dead.

Sheesh, buying more guns...? Really seems the wrong course of action to (I suspect) most of the world... How about, maybe, stopping kids being able to buy weapons capable of mass murder?

    Why celebrate 02/06/22?

Hope Triumph bring out another special. Wouldn't mind a 1977 T140 Jubilee Bonnie... athumb..

    Texas shooting 19 dead.

There are legitimate reasons for semi automatic firearms for pest control in NZ. Deer, pigs, goats, rabbits, possums, canada geese etc are all introduced, and if not adequately controlled through hunting will ruin the environment (no natural predators). Not uncommon for DOC (dept of...

    Texas shooting 19 dead.

Yep crying shame to see historical items destroyed rather than displayed somewhere. In our situation all semi autos were deemed 'dangerous' so lovingly kept M1 Garands etc were destroyed...

    Texas shooting 19 dead.

I'm in NZ and am a sporting shooter. We just had duckshooting opening morning and that's a big deal here (rugby games are rescheduled around it etc). Historically, people had links to the rural community so hunting and pest control were common, most people had a shotgun, deer rifle and .22 for...

    Bottle conditioning sediment

I actually found one this morning. Dug out an old Duvel branded tulip stemmed glass that perfectly holds a 500ml bottle (volume tested). Now my go-to glass for my evening tipple... athumb..

    Bottle conditioning sediment

I poured a beer tonight, from a 500ml bottle into a 250ml tulip glass. First glass was crystal clear, second a bit gluggy from bottle being set upright in between pours. Think I either need a jug or bigger glasses... 🙂

    Bottle conditioning sediment

I think so. You'll have to check dosage though as I've only ever used whirlfloc. Half a tablet is good for a 25 litre brew...

    Bottle conditioning sediment

Yep to above. Using whirlfloc, gelatin and cold crashing can have a huge effect on clarity. And (depending on the yeast) some time in the fridge after conditioning is complete can make it possible to empty the bottle almost completely with no sediment. It's quite refreshing doing a hefeweizen...

    Homemade bottle carbonation cabinet

Yeah we don't have fused plugs here so things are different (have RCD protected circuits). Might just be easier to remove the foil on the base that the heater sits on? If there's no conductive path from the heater there's no issue.

    Homemade bottle carbonation cabinet

If the heater is double insulated you're probably fine. Dble insulated appliances normally only have 2 pin plugs and a symbol of a square within a square somewhere. Bear in mind I'm a long way away and we probably have different wiring rules and regs, so UK experts would be best to comment. I'm...

    Homemade bottle carbonation cabinet

Connect the main earth connection on the heater (if it has one) via a wire to the foil, and run flexible connections to each door. Could screw a metal strip to the foil somewhere inconspicuous as a connection point. Possibly being too nervous in the times of RCD protection, it's just that IF a...

    Homemade bottle carbonation cabinet

Certainly more elegant than an old fridge. The electrical engineer in me though is wondering if you've bonded and earthed that foil lining? A lot of people were electrocuted here in NZ stapling foil lined underfloor insulation in place...
