    Umeshu!

No, I think it's very simple. I love the drink and want to make my own. I'm just a bit worried about making some kind of sludge! ha!

    Umeshu!

Hi all - tinlife here! Has anyone attempted to make Japanese Umeshu in the UK using fruit other than ume, like in this example: Umeshu - Japanese 'Plum' Wine - with ume OR green apricots (diversivore.com) Any help much appreciated. Tinlife

    Wilko Beer Finings

Thanks for all the advice. I think I'm more interested to see how the finings work than anything else. Just so I have the experience. This is the third time I've brewed the Geordie lager and it has been clear the first two just with normal waiting. I'll still be leaving it for a bit, just wanted...

    Wilko Beer Finings

Brilliant, thank you. Should I add the finings at the cold crash point?

    Wilko Beer Finings

Hi everyone, Tinlife here! A quick question if you good people don't mind. I recently bought a sachet of Wilko beer finings and am keen to see if it makes a difference. My questions though are: 1. I bottle condition/carbonate, will the finings stop the carbonation process by stripping out the...

Serving straight from a 30ltr Fermzilla allrounder

Yeah, I suppose that's the big issue - tap from it and I can't have a rolling stock. Fella in this vid taps straight off it (at around 50second in)

Serving straight from a 30ltr Fermzilla allrounder

I struggle to keep mine brews for a fortnight unless I'm ill!

Serving straight from a 30ltr Fermzilla allrounder

Hi Everyone, Tinlife here! I know there's already a few posts on the Fermzilla but looking through them I'm not sure if anyone has answered my question: Has anyone any experience of using the fermzilla to serve directly from? I don't have a keg and like the idea of brewing in and serving from...

    Should I be worried

Just poured one out. Apart from being too young, the carbonation is fine. No worries at all. Thanks! Can I ask, does the indoor conditioning stage do anything more than do the carbonation work or is there another purpose? I'm asking because since they're well carbed I wondered if I can move to...

    Should I be worried

Tinlife here - a brief update: All bottles are now under control, it would seem. The bottles have firmed up again but not quite to the same extent. I cracked one outside to see what happens and it just fizzes nicely but doesn't gush. So, the bomb situation seems to have been avoided - thanks...

    Should I be worried

Do you think if I keep releasing the pressure there's a point at which I can stop releasing it or will I be doing this daily until enough time has passed for me to stick them in the shed in what I think is a conditioned state?

    Should I be worried

Since posting and getting all of your very helpful responses I have opened every bottle 4 times. Why 4? Because I wasn't sure how long to open them for so each time was longer than the last until I found a level which seemed to flatten the fizz somewhat. Each time I left the cap on and just...

    Should I be worried

I had a starting gravity of 1.042 and ended at 1.008.

Much appreciated! Blanket going over now!

    Should I be worried

Thanks! Hoping the release I did earlier is enough then. I'll do the refrigeration bit as well - try and get them as calm as possible. Lesson learned - leave the ale long enough in the FV and don't add 3 drops!

    Should I be worried

A chap can't even get smashed on under-developed ale anymore without chaos...Bloody Johnson's Britain!!!

    Should I be worried

The packet says 2 drops for 500ml hence my decision to add three...not a good one it would seem! I've just released the pressure from every bottle and re-sealed. I suspect I'm going to either end up with bombs when I open them or I release the pressure several times and end up with flat and off...

    Should I be worried

Hi All, Tinlife here! I recently put on 22litres of the Canadian Ale from Wilko - used 1kg of dry malt, 250g of brewing sugar, and dry hopped from day one (which I suspect was a bad idea). Bottled it on day 7 which was yesterday after 2 days of the same reading. I wanted to wait longer but I...
