    one other thing related. I use an inkbird and the probe is attached to the FV with foil then bubble wrap over it. How accurate is that to th4 actual beer in the FV?

    thanks for that; one other thing about water temp how do you get it up to 20-30? Tepid water from kettle I presumme? Or cold and then using the heating pad/belt?

    what make of heat pad do you use? Looked at a few and wary of far east sweat shop ones

    Using the heat pad do you use with an ink bird or other temp control? Doesn't it get too warm at the bottom of the FV and effect the wine there?

    Yes agree for expansion of the corks. Do you use shop bought old wine bottles with screw caps? Are they good enough to be airtight

    Gents, when I ferment in a FV i always use a heating belt and inkbird in the back room. I have a Beko larder fridge and use that for secondary on the bottles and a heating tube and inkbird. Is there any issue with the escaping CO2 (like a build up) if I do the initial fermentaion in the...
