    I do the same, crystal and dark malts i chuck on top for the last 15 mins of the mash, and mash out, and you get a smoother tasting beer, no astringent taste.

    I went from sparging on a 3 vessel,down to a 2 vessel 200ltr no sparge full recirculated mash,the beers far better,its simple,less cleaning,and i get 80% efficiency,and improved clarity. I found the more fluid the wort,(thinner mash) the better the product.Yet everyone i spoke with said its less...

    Thanks Simon,just seeing a video of Harrisons brewery doing it and thinking hes doing it so it does not run continually,switches on and off via the stc,so im as confused as you.

    My understanding of it is you need to remove the thermostats if you use it in a fermenting chamber with a heat source, to maintain a temp of say 18 deg, then chill via the stc1000 or inkbird controller

    Coconut in beer

    I use coconut alot. In a 50ltr batch of Stout i use a kilo of toasted flakes. Ferment your beer out fully, then add into fermenter in a bag for 5 days at 16 degrees.
