on the other side of the canal is harkers arms, well worth a visit, try telfords wharehouse, the tap, kash(if you only get to one this is it!) bear and billet, pied bull, the bridge to name a few. the heaton hotel (swiftys brewpub)has a little micro though ive never seen it used....

its about what sells mate, market forces drive whats made commercially. i can gaurentee a pale zingy hop tea will outsell a browner maltier more staid beer 10-1 I have 20 beers in my brewery line up i have to rebrew the same two of the palest of pale zingy beers filled with us and nz hops every...

old stale beer. comercial casks should be on no longer than three days.period. acetobacter has left its little calling card in that beer, a few more weeks and itll be full of string :sick:

youve been lucky if you dont have an infection imho, id never add liqourice root to an fv unless in tincture form, its simply not worth the risk. if i use it its in the last few minutes of the boil
