Go to the how to section and find the thread on hire not to screw your first brew up. I think it's a sticky, read that then throw away the instructions. Kit instructions are wildly optimistic with their times.

Hi. Where abouts are you. I would be interested in a corny keg and could possibly collect at the end of next month as I'm down south for a few days on a training course and could detour slightly on the way home.

Pfft, someone stole our bin last month, put it out for collection day, came back from work the day after collection day and it was gone. Got in touch with the council and ordered a new one, then when the bins were put back out a fortnight later, noticed that the house 5 doors down had nicked it!

The signs in the Kidderminster store said 25% off all homebrew stuff. I picked up a Milestone Dark Galleon Kit, a 6 bottle elderberry wine kit, a bottle brush and two bags of brewing sugar. The brewing sugar was the only real oddity, they got their shelf discount wrong basing it on the offer...

I worked nights for a few years, it was a blessing when 'spoons started serving beer as soon as they opened. A few of us from work would go for 'breakfast' and a beer, it was almost like we were normal people, going for a beer after work.

No different to doing a day shift and having a 6.5% beer at 7pm. Sounds like a tasty beer, I'll have to see if they have it near here.

No worries. Keep us updated on how it goes. It already sounds interesting enough for me to be adding a couple more cartons to next weeks shopping list to try the same thing. I don't have any swing tops though, but I'll try and get some clear glass bottles in the hope it retains its colour...

D'oh! :doh: The plastic bottles didn't carbonate, I didn't close the lids fully. I only realised this today when I had a look at the bottles in the cellar and gave one a squeeze, it bent out of shape and stayed that way. I've closed the lids properly now, so I felt the pop as the collar slipped...

Moley adds glycerine in his WOW how to for added mouth feel in the final wine, I'm not fully sure what this means, and I suspect the best way for me to understand properly is to make two near identical batches, one with and one without. I suspect it adds a thickness which rolls around the mouth...
