    Advice on Belgian Tripel please

That's excellent, thanks for the advice guys. I am just waiting on the temp to drop a little more before I pitch the yeast. I followed the recipe above apart from I upped the hops slightly to 20g, 10g and 10g, and the sugar to 600g. I decided just to use caster sugar, although wasn't sure when...

    Advice on Belgian Tripel please

I've not had a brew on for about 6 months so following my last trip to Bruges I've decided on a quick Belgian tripel. I will be using biab with my 18litre pan. These are the ingredients I have to hand, was just wondering if anyone has experience in brewing a tripel and could knock me up a decent...

    First AG brew..

So decided to give a BIAB a go after doing some good, and some bad kits. I used the following: 1.5kg Marris otter 150g crystal malt 7.5g fuggles at first boil 15g fuggles + Irish moss 5 mins before end. I used 4.5 litres to mash and 6 litres to sparge, so I think I've got around 8-9...

    Coopers pale ale fermenting question.

Ok thank you. I wouldn't normally consider putting in the keg/bottle so early, but I fell into the airlock not bubbling trap lol. I done my first all grain brew on Saturday, so this coopers is taking a back seat!

    Coopers pale ale fermenting question.

I used a coopers pale ale kit with 500g light spray malt and 300g sugar. SG was 1040. Chucked it together on 18th feb. The next morning it was bubbling as usual. I Checked it this morning as it wasn't bubbling and it read 1010. This evening I've checked and its started carbonating and i got a...

Advice on my first mini mash combination please

I've just been reading your sticky, I'm very tempted to make a mini mini mash as you described, but only aim to make around 5litres, just so I can see what it's like. Would this work ok on a smaller scale? I would be aiming for a pale ale around 4.5%abv.

Advice on my first mini mash combination please

So I've made a few kits and have decided to try a mini mash combination. I've bought a can of cooper Australian pale ale. I'm looking at around a 18-19l brew. I've read up on the process, I'm just after some advice on what grain and hops I should buy and how much I will need please. Adam.

    Corks sticking to bottles.

Im using the youngs corks from wilkos. They go in with no trouble, but they are very hard to extract. It's like they've been glued to the bottle! I have to use a knife to try pry the cork off the bottle before being able to use the cork screw to remove.

    Corks sticking to bottles.

I'm having a problem with my corks sticking to the inside neck of the bottles. I soak them before using a hand corker and then covering with a shrink top. My bottles are always stored on their side too. Am I able to lubricate the bottle neck at all?

    Using spray malt...

I must of been getting mixed up, the wherry doesn't need anything. It's a John Bull English ale kit I've got that's asking for 1kg of sugar.

    Using spray malt...

Ok that's great, cheers for the advice, looks like I will stick to the sugar! It came out really good last time with sugar, no idea why I decided to pick up the malt. So when you say it doesn't ferment all it's sugars, does that mean the abv will be lower and it will taste sweeter? I don't...

    Using spray malt...

I have always used just plain white sugar or brewing sugar to make my beer kits. I decided to pick up a medium spray malt to use in my wherry kit I'm putting together tonight. However I grabbed the bag in a hurry and now notice it's only 500g! Can I use 500g of sugar with it too? Or is it best...
