Panic over, a few days later and carbonation is bang on!

    racking to secondary too early?

I very rarely move my beer to a secondary fermenter. I’ve often left mine on 3 weeks with no issues. Personally I’d leave it alone and enjoy your holiday, but either way would be fine.

    Bottle carbonation

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention the beer type. It’s hazy IPA around 7%. I guess I need to be a bit more patient. I was just curious why the keg seemed to prime fast than the bottles when the primer was mixed in the bucket. I’ve tried another bottle and it’s definitely more carbonated...

    Bottle carbonation

I haven’t bottled for a while. I split my latest 10 gallon batch between kegs and bottles. The last 6 gallons I added 100 grams of priming sugar, kegged 3 gallons and bottled the last 3 gallons. The keg has primed just fine, but the bottles are kind of flat. Not sure why. Been in bottles for...

Commercial vs Home brew fermentation times

I usually add dry hops at that point so it’s often well over 2 weeks before I keg or bottle.

Commercial vs Home brew fermentation times

Mine usually take about 10 days at around 20 degrees ending up roughly 7% ABV. My brother has a commercial brewery and doesn’t understand why. I don’t either. It just does.

    New beer tap.

Nice. It’s a Nukatap, bought from Beerkegtap. Not used it yet. Still need to get hold of a CO2 bottle to complete my setup.

Brewing mistakes you really wish you'd avoided...

Putting a 5 gallon fermenting bucket on the kitchen worktop and using a rolling pin to tilt it forward when siphoning into keg. And doing all of the above at 11pm.

    Which brand of faucet tap?

https://brewkegtap.co.uk/products/intertap-flow-control-keg-mounted Thanks for all the replies. Crikey, Didn’t think it would be so hard to choose! Thinking about going for the above. £45. Is this a wise choice at an OK price?

    Which brand of faucet tap?

Thanks for the replies. Can you explain why I need a flow control disconnect and where I can get one from? Also, I like the look of the ultra twist but can seem to find it anywhere in the UK.

    Which brand of faucet tap?

Hi I need a faucet for a corny keg I've just bought. There seem to be a few to choose from. Is there much difference in quality between brands. Any recommendations. I'm looking to attach it straight onto the disconnect. Thanks in advance.

    Cornelius gas

Just bought a 19 Ltr, AEB. It has not tap or gas connects. I have a couple of s30 gas bottles. Not sure which way to go. I’ve seen mini regulator that malt killer does that can connect to s30 bottle. Or should I forget them and get a larger bottle like the BOC 2kg ones and a different regulator...

    Dry Hopping

Thanks for the advice. My brew is 12 kg Maris, .5kg Caramalt. Couple of sachets of US05. 60 minute mash at 65 degrees. Boiled for 60 minutes. I’ve added another 100g of Mosaic pellets, this time not in a bag. Will see how it goes!

    Dry Hopping

I’ve been successfully all grain brewing for a few years now. I generally make the same basic IPA style beer. The one thing I’ve never really achieved is that really hoppy flavour. My later batch is a 10 gallon brew. It’s nearly ready to barrel and I’ve added 100g of mosaic pellets in a bag a...

How to get rid of the homebrew taste?

I never got rid of the Homebrew taste until I started brewing with all grain. Everyone has an opinion on how long to leave the beer in the original fermenting vessel and Ive tried transferring to secondary after a few days and I couldn’t notice a difference. I often leave it in the original...
