Bulldog Brews Bad Cat Imperial Red

It tasted lovely but beware, if you don't label it correctly, you'd think think you're drinking a nice red ale, as opposed to red devil.

St Peters Ruby Red Ale review

That's no way 80g will be enough to bottle this. You'll need closer to 130g

Bulldog Brews Bad Cat Imperial Red

I normally don't bother with an airlock but this bad boy blew the lid! I put the airlock on and it blew it as well, more I've a blow off tube running into a piny glass with water in it. This is easily the most active kit I've done, crazy.

    the Brooklyn brewbook

Like many, I've wanted to try an all grain but don't have the necessary equipment to complete the step up. This book however makes it easy for us. It basically requires a soup pot and the rest is simple. I've made my first all grain, a Belgian triple made with pumpkins!!! I'm now in the middle...

    Priming sugar preferences?

How much sugar do you put in, I had a huge swing top from IKEA blow on Xmas day like a bottle of champaign, yet other bottles of darker ales have little head.

    Muntons IPA

How much sugar did you guys use for priming it

    Coopers Wheat Beer Review

Had a bottle of this last night and it's a very average brew, even with the added hops it just doesn't have much going for it. It's a fizzy cheap beer, maybe it's not just to my liking, but it's certainly not like a wheat beer . will try it again in a few weeks

    Coopers Wheat Beer Review

Not quite but it's the liveliest yeast I have seen. I had to release the gas every day. I dry hopped it 2 days ago so how to bottle it on Wednesday

    Coopers Wheat Beer Review

Started this 5 days ago with 500g light malt and 400 g brewing sugar ( it only asked for 300 but my kids had a party and my concentration went). Gonna dry hi it with approx 50 g hops in the next few days. Is it to late to try the lemon zest thing?

    clearing a beer

First of all, thank you for the replies. Secondly, it really doesn't bother me that much, on my 10th or so brew and was wondering if I was missing something that's all.

    clearing a beer

Even after bottling there are still some stuff in the bottles, is there a way to completely clear the bottle, or do you always have to be careful with the residue at the bottom?

experimenting with seriously reduced 2 can kits

I was lucky I picked up some cheap muscavado sugar from the local co op, it's always on offer! I think you should use a light malt, sorry for the confusion. I will keep you posted as to how mine goes, I'm a bit excited/ nervous about changing method etc but hey it will be worth it

experimenting with seriously reduced 2 can kits

I would use 750g of malt and 500g sugar, but hey I'm no expert. I'm gonna do that this weekend for the first time, gonna wait a week then dry hop it. Sure whats the worst that can happen, it's all beer haha good luck and maybe someone with more experience can steer both of us better

experimenting with seriously reduced 2 can kits

I would get some light malt and go large with it.I am gonna do this over the weekend with a John bull, bag of malt and muscavado, with extra hops ( that's for me, I realise that bit might not suit)

St Peters Ruby Red Ale review

Had a few of these over the weekend and they are superb. It looks fantastic and even my beer buddy who only drinks bought beer was impressed. It's amazingly similar to some of the high end bottled beers bought at good shops. Will be using this again

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

I only got one 50g packet as well. Don't worry. I would leave this for as long as you can, the flavour evens out after a while otherwise it's quite zingy

    American Amber Ale

Like its Razorback cousin, I would leave it a bit longer before you put the hops in. I left it in my fermenter for a lot longer than specified, choosing to add the hops in nearer the end of the second week. I brewed this a month or two ago and all the bottles are gone. My mates loved it and...

    Coopers Ginger Beer Review

My wife loves this but be careful, it's very fizzy and easy to over carbonate. Just had my first bottle bombs go off, thankfully I had moved all my stuff into the shed and none of my brew was harmed

St Peters Ruby Red Ale review

Just bottled this last night, brewed full limit. One thing though, I was amazed at the amount of gunge left in the fermenter when I transferred it into a new container per bottling it. Anyone else noticed that? Anyhow load of bottles done , now the wait which by all previous accounts on here...
