    Stainless SprayBall for Wort Aeration

I just won these on fleabay today Click 8-) They are probably used for CIP. I was going to pump wort through them to create a spray into the FV to add aeration :hmm: Anyone tried this ? not sure about hole sizes, will they clog ?

Cheap Original 3KW Kettle Elements & Leads (Source)

Want to find original 3KW kettle elements, the sort that used to be in the old stainless Swan kettles and the rare hard to find mains leads to go with them :?: A while ago I was walking through my local village of Salemoor and noticed an old fashioned antiquated shop that sold old washing...

    Sight Glass Level Indicator

Good point V1 I can just my balls floating in a pint :) Use a smaller hole and fitting at the bottom and an adapter to increase size  for the tube. You could also add a small ball valve at the bottom in case the sight glass breaks and you don't want to lose your contents.

    Sight Glass Level Indicator

If your looking to add the finishing touches to your sight glass, like the V1 version. You need a plastic ball ! I looked at these about 18 months ago, so the price may have changed and more companies may do them now. I got samples from the The Precision Plastic Ball Company Limited and Dejay...

How to make a PT100 Switch Box

Nice tidy work there V1 and a good way to use one PID for different temperatures around a brewery system. :thumb: Got me thinking, I've seen ganged rotary switches in the past, they used to be in stereos for left/right channels. Due to the PID's low SSR control voltage/current another switch...

    Automatic Underback

In order to use the underback between two levels that will give us enough buffer between not overflowing the underback and the pump not being primed and ran dry, two float switches can be used at a distance apart that will dictate the buffer volume. :thumb: This can be implemented using...

    Automatic Underback

I think that would be difficult, irony. I would still connect the pot casing to earth for HLT and Copper, elements have been know to fail and the earth on the earthed element outer coating not detect the live fault inside the element. I would also bond all the pots together to prevent touch...

    Automatic Underback

Personally I wouldn't put live 240v through a float switch which is contact with the wort and hence the container. To be on the safe side you would have to earth the underback and use an RCD or something. It would be better to use low voltages on the switches and isolation to a controller i.e...

    autosparge

My MT drips with gravity into an underback which is a stainless bowl on legs that they used to use to straddle beer barrels when putting the dregs back ! By having a SS float switch near the top, the underback pump switches on when the level reaches the switch. As long as the MT o/p valve is...

    Neil Morrisey Brewing Channel 4

I'm glad that series has stopped at 3, because I don't think I could take any more horse **** from that pair :x I'm sure Tesco's and Sainbury's were watching, as the very clever Mr Fox called Waitrose a bunch of wan&%$$^^kers when he put the phone down. 60p on a pint of Tetley's and no...

    Smelly Wee?

Maybe your'e a bit stressed out. John Shuttleworth aka 'Jilted John' mentions in one of his songs: 'I must be suffering from stress, my wee smells of sugar puffs' Does this sound, sorry smell familiar to anyone? Drink loads of water, if it persists, get to the quacks.

    Neil Morrisey Brewing Channel 4

It's getting more interesting as they get ready to install the brewery and brew on it. Good job they had Cropton's brewing that recipe they formulated ;) I didn't quite catch Fox's letter in response to planning permission, but I'm sure it mentions ABuk, probably to install a condenser to...
