    Beer = Lager?

    Beer=beer, beer is a name given to everything in that category. Ale,bitter ect are sub names under the same type of alcohol. And no you can't change it into an ale. Just bin it,sell it or add something to make it better. Either via hopping or just add some cordial when drinking.

    Scratches in a mash tun

    Thanks guys. Bought the tun and never used it and the diy strainer is sharp and caused scratches. I was all in to get a grain father until I was told it only made 17 litres of wort. Think I will get an urn from nisbets and make 30 litres.

    Scratches in a mash tun

    Do scratches in a mash tun (cool box type) make a difference to a brew? I know people say they do in a fermenter but not sure about the mash tun.

    First Brew, First Mistake

    You are fine, it's just a lighter abv than you thought. If it's 4% then maybe now it's 3.2-3.5. Not a big deal, definitely drinkable. My last beer I did well under, strong beer lol

    Gas regulators or splitters

    Is it best to use a splitter or multiple regulators. I want 2-3 kegs. Iv seen some people just use a single regulator and a splitter instead of a multiple channels. Is this correct or should I be using a stage regulator instead? Thanks

    Grainfather vs Braumeister

    Grainfather have a demo on YouTube, I know it doesn't show the quality of the equipment but it shows everything from start to finish. I can post a like if you want.

    What size corny kegs do you use?

    I don't know if I should go for the 19 and save some money and just bottle the last 6 ltr with co2. Also would you go barbed or threaded quick dissconnects? £55 for 19 ltr £90 for 25 ltr

    Grainfather vs Braumeister

    Before you say call me crazy, your f*ing crazy dude. The braumeister is about 3-4x the price of the grainfather. They both work well from what Iv seen. End of the day they both do the same job other than grainfather is limited to how much you can brew. I'd also pre order one from brewuk...

    How to tell when it's ready to drink?

    Had a taste and it was nice, but I did just finish of a madras which could of clouded the taste lol. One thing I did notice though was the sediment was all over the place, not sure if this is down to liquid yeast over power. I tip the bottle and manage to leave most of it behind. But with...

    How to tell when it's ready to drink?

    My last brew I left for ages. This brew 3 weeks in warmth and 10-14 days in the loft. What the best way to tell it's ready to be put in the fridge for drinking. It's a wheat beer.
