Dudes get over it. our kids' will post something similar in 30 years time saying 'you kids with your neural implants! In my day we had to communicate on the internet with facebook using a keyboard or one of those old fashioned iPhones! Can you imagine not having a telepathic link! Omg' It's...

Do you think the Pint Glass Holding Craft Beer Back?

Hmm 1) too many trips to the bar 2) for home all my bottles are 500ml so smaller glasses = not fitting in 1 pour = yeast in glass 3) I'm a man. I drink pints. Though the first part of point (3) is debatable

+1 for outside cleaning. And everything else. See how I feel about that in December though

    GF #8 Another ESB

The only real issues I've had in the four brews I've done (two with a loan machine, two with my own) were the chiller output flow slowing to a near stop due to leaf hops clogging round the filter (easily solved by scraping) and when I mashed with too little water and it went wired and foamy...

    GF #8 Another ESB

I find that the water volumes their calculator suggests do lead to a thick mash, though I'm used to biab with nearly the full volume or liquor in the mash. I've started adding a litre more than they suggest and sparging a little less. Given how efficient the gf is I don't mind if this loses a...

    Paddle & drill

There was someone from geterbrewed on the forum recently and they said they had a guy who could make stuff like this. Might be worth emailing them via the site, or pm'ing them? Dave's retirement brew

I think so. The guy who writes the bear flavored blog uses it all the time and his beers are always hazy.

    Dave's retirement brew

Mine cleared eventually, though I think it tasted better while the yeast was in suspension. That might just be the initial hoppiness fading though. But yeah, if it's not clear the ingrates would have complained!

I once was an AG virgin...

That sounds pretty successful to me. The temp of the grain bed when sparging isn't important. You just need your sparge water 76-80c. As you hit gravity you must have done it Right! To keep the mash at the right temp just stick a double duvet over it, it won't budge. I used an ordinary pan...

    Dave's retirement brew

I couldn't be arsed to culture it up! To be honest given it will have an audience of about 25 people I figured trustworthy and inoffensive was the way forward. Don't want any cock ups on this one!

Craft Brew: 50 homebrew recipes from the world

You can see the list of recipes on Amazon (not the actual recipes though, that would be daft). Not sure I'd bother as I don't know most of the beers but I guess useful inspiration if you're after something similar to a commercial beer you like. I've only had a few, not ones I'd be bothered with...

    Dave's retirement brew

A guy at work (Dave) is retiring in August and we're having a party. I've been commissioned to make a brew for him as he likes his beer, and I put it in today. A bit short of time as the party is on 28th July but I think it'll be ok as its a hop bomb, so the hops will drown out any green ness...

    Daftest beer yet?

a pointless gimmick of ever there was! However, I am tempted to at some point make a 'bottom of the freezer' beer with whatever hops I have lying about in small quantities at the bottom of the freezer!

any ideas for tropical ingredient beers?

You'd be fine as long as ocado were still delivering.
