    Book recommendations

Hi all, not sure where to 'park' this post so put it here. No doubt the powers that be will move it if necessary. Whilst having a well earned pint or three at the end of the day, I like to read. Not sure what others do, but thought it might be nice for people to recommend books they have...

Hi Justin. Sorry for the late reply. Yeah happy to meet up and lend a hand. Unfortunately my work schedule is unpredictable, but sure we can sort out a time. Let me know what dates/time you have in mind and I'll try and sort a day off!!

Hi Justin. I am in Sible Hedingham, so not far from you. I have tried in the past to start a local club but to no avail. A club called West Essex Homeberewers started, which I joined, but sadly that to didn't take off. I'm sure there must be a few of us round here, the problem is getting to...

Hambleton Bard to doscontinue s30 refills

Yes, and with an attitude like theirs, I can't think anyone at HB would be stupid enough to think they will. Talk about hitting the self detruct button! Does make me wonder if it is a sign of a more serious underlying problem at HB....

    Crusader Kegs for sale.

As I am no longer brewing in the quantity I used to, I have 2x20 litre Crusader kegs, complete with their sankey couplers for sale. Only used half a dozen times each, so good condition throughout. I find these to be far stronger and more durable than my corny keg. £75 each or £140 for the...

    Fast or what!!

Brewed up on Saturday (belgian beer SG 1.080). Used the Crossmyloof real ale yeast (all I had!) and it started about 6 hours later. Checked today to find it is at 1.014!! Smeels great, just going to give it a day or two to 'clean up' and then cold crash it. In fairness I think it actually...

1kg of East Kent Goldings (2016 harvest) for sale.

Hi all. Due to having to cut back on my brewing somewhat, I have 1kg of East Kent Goldings hops for sale. They have been stored at 1c and kept in their original foil overwrap. I used them for my last brew a month ago, and they are definitely still good! Looking to move them in one lot (to...

Sankey keg coupler with PRV for sale

Never used, just found whilst having a clear out. As I've gone over to corny kegs, this is now surplus to requirements. This 's' fitting can be used on Crusader kegs, or any that take the 'S' type fitting. £20 inc P&P (UK only!)

Homebrew twang: is this the answer?

I am happy to report that I have never had a problem with the 'twang' (only some infected batches which helped clean the drains), even when using extract to brew (all grain normally). It did seem too good to be true. Snake oil comes to mind.....

Homebrew twang: is this the answer?

I have seen many posts and threads concerning homebrew 'twang'. Just going through my bookmarks, I didn't recognise this site (probably the result of a late night, drunken look through home brew shops on tinterweb!), so clicked on it, to find this product being promoted...
