Kit for sale - bottles, bins and grain father.

I’d take £400 for the Grainfather, happy to courier it if arranged, or I could drive it in a 50 mile radius for delivery/meet.

Kit for sale - bottles, bins and grain father.

I’m selling off a lot of kit on eBay, including a Grainfather and assorted other stuff, if anyone fancies anything then drop me a line. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grainfather-All-in-One-Brewing-System/163854427589?hash=item26267c25c5:g:urIAAOSwA71ddksC...

    Assorted equipment going spare

Hello all. I've had a brewing break for the last year and I'm looking at drastically reducing the amount of kit I've accumulated over the past few years. I've got a hundred or so regular bottles, and 30ish flip top ones in good nick. Three fermenting bins, a large and a half size pressure...

Anyone here from the Hemel area?

Hmm. Don't quite know why this has ended up going to to you then, if you're not from the Hemel area!

Anyone here from the Hemel area?

Apologies, work dragged me away. Still up for trying to find local brewers if you are!

Anyone here from the Hemel area?

I'm not that far from you as the crow flies. I've looked for local home brew clubs as well but found nothing so far, I'm open to setting something up for the area.

    Ginger Beer

    10 litres.

    Ginger Beer

I've made a lot of batches of ginger beer over the past two years, as my wife is a fan. I tried a Coopers kit one, which was pretty foul, then attempted the fiery ginger beer recipe on this forum a few times, but it always turned out too thin and dry, and needed a lot of lemonade or cordial...

    Barrels

I know them well, many thanks. I'll get one in.

    Barrels

That sounds like a good size for my brews. What make is it?

Can you use grain father, ace, etc for small batches?

I do 10 litre batches in mine, not needed the additional pipework. Works well for a full-volume mash at that quantity.

    Cheap sparge water heater

I manage to heat all my gf sparge water in a 15 litre saucepan on the stove, which has worked so far for me, brewing in the kitchen.

    Coopers kit tweaks/mini mashes

Nope, as I make it up to 22 or so litres with cold water, that normally gets it cool enough to pitch the yeast.

    Coopers kit tweaks/mini mashes

It's given it perhaps a bit more sweetness than I anticipated, but the kit is quite heavily hopped, so I wasn't sure how it would balance out. I like it, but yes, you could certainly drop the chocolate down.

    Coopers kit tweaks/mini mashes

I spent a long time searching around the internet for good tweaks to the English Bitter kit, and eventually came up with this, which has conditioned into a nice malty ESB. 2.4 kg Maris Otter 200g Crystal 100g Chocolate 200g Amber Malt 100g Torrified Wheat Mashed at 68 degrees for an...

    kit pimping

There are a few good recipes on this thread http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=55390 I'm just conditioning an ESB I made using the Coopers English Bitter as a base, I'll add the recipe later.

Big Ed's Craft ale kit: what do you think?

It looks like a good kit, but you could put it all together separately for a lot less money, if you were inclined. The instructions seem pretty decent, I'd avoid washing any of your equipment in soapy water though, and the business with insulating the box for the mash I would think unnecessary...

Designing mobile app to help with homebrewing

As some one with a freezer full of assorted hops, I'd love a stock-keeping function for hops and grains that could keep track of what you have and adjust accordingly after each brew.

    AG/BIAB desperados style lager

It's a tricky one to replicate, there are a few threads on here about various experiments. I tried a batch using a Coopers cerveza as the base, and flavoured half with tequila essence. It didn't work out well... I'd go with your pseudo lager and add lime and tequila when serving, much easier to...
