    Vintners Reserve White Zinfandel

The Flavour Pack seemed to be a small version of the main bag which no doubt contained grape juice, sugar, tannin, fruit acids and so on. The effect of the sorbate is to stop the fermentation so you end up with a mixture of normal wine, sugar and grape juice. It would appeal to some people but...

    White Zinfandel Kit Recommendation?

I have had great results with the California Connoisseur and the Kenridge Classic white Zinfandel, but I did not like the Vintner's Reserve kit. This had a flavour pack of grape juice that you add with some sorbate at the end of the fermentation making the finished wine excessively sweet and...

    Coopers Lager Kit

Craig Farraway was very enthusiastic about the Cooper's lager kit in his YouTube videos (three in a series). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt3IGCxu6tk However for me it seems just too crazy to buy a beer kit from 10,000 miles away.

WineBuddy Sauvignon Blanc - 30 bottle Kit

I pay £44 for Californian Connoisseur. I reckon that there is so much work put in to brewing it that I may as well pay £1.50 per bottle.

    Vintners Reserve White Zinfandel

I really did not like this rose wine, it was very sweet and fruity. It was synthetic tasting like a soft drink not like the modified fruitiness that wine usually has. There is a Flavour Pack that you add at the same time as the sorbate, it is a smaller bag of the same grape juice.

    Wine kits advice please

In CJJ Berry's book he has a section entitled 'Ware Vinegar. Berry is pretty definite that the cause is fruit flies getting in to the wine. They must be able to detect the odour of ketones and alcohol from a distance and navigate towards it, they seem to suddenly appear when you are working on...

    DIY Beer Crates

I roughly estimated the cost of the wood, for example two pieces of Rough Sawn Timber Sawn Kiln Dried 19mm x 38mm x 1800mm, and two 22mm x 50mm x 1800mm, would come to about 7.00 pounds. It is hard to get a plastic one for less that 12.50, so these compare quite favourably.
