In the past I have had two plastic barrels leak and they were only a couple of years old, the reason why I went over to stainless steel kegs, no fun mopping up sticky beer off the floor ! Mine leaked along the welds/joins though.

After cropping my bines and ending up with 2.1 kilo of Fuggles, brewed my mk2 ESB, all of the hops went in (50Lbatch) working on an alpha of 3 and a wet to dry ratio of 8:1. Marvelous smells during the boil, the first home grown hop brew I have been able to do after losing my harvest last year...

I reckon they could go up 20 feet, you can nearly see them growing,, when they get going, I use bean canes and grow then horizontal like runner beans, it works, my fuggles are on their 4th year now. Regards

Yup, been in there before, it's hard to call it beer, it's an insult, if I was a brew pub turning that beer out I would top myself ! Thursday and Friday are the best days to go to the festival, there seems to be a lot of beer pigs in Newton Abbot hence most gone by Saturday ! I didn't see you...

Hi all, Anybody had any experience of these juicers to make cider, I have heard they are good for small amounts of apples, looking forward to the Autumn already !

Go for it ! Drill through the outer skin carefully then poke a pencil through the insulation to make sure no wires etc are there then go all the way through. If there are any wires there you will be able to push them out of the way with the pencil.

I lied,, it has just showed its head above ground by about 2 inches, talk about slo-mo, not impressed, my Fuggles are 7 feet+, if I had a choice now I would not be buying the dwarf !

I have a 10L bottle, well, 2 actually, 1 co2 and another co2/N, that size will last a loooong time, amazing how much gas is in them ! The other factor is the rental (if any) if the bottle lasts longer than the rental period. Bearing in mind you will need gas for purging after sterilization etc...

Bound to get a few snags !

It's a dying trade and about time peeps woke up to the fact it's all fairy tales, churches and the land should be given back to the people who it was stolen off in the first place. Churches are shutting all around here because of total lack of interest. Another thing, why should they not pay...
