What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Day off tomorrow, so I’m starting with a couple of lovely Belgians - St Bernardus Tripel and Kasteel Tripel. Then I’ll be working through the Beer 52 box. Then I’ll be waking up in the chair in the early hours, with a bad neck sick...

    'Greeny' hop taste

I’ve never used extract, would be interesting to see how it works out. I either brew bitters or pale/ipa styles with lots of dry hopping. Think I’ll get some extract for the next brew!

    Thanks everyone!

100% agree. I’ve learned so much from this forum over the years, I wouldn’t be using the equipment or the methods I do now if it wasn’t for the advice from these good people.

    'Greeny' hop taste

One downside of using whole hops for dry hopping is that you’ll need to use more to get the same taste/aroma result that you get from pellets. They‘ll soak up more of the beer, so you’ll have less final product. I often do a Two Hearted clone and use upto 200g for dry hopping, it occasionally...

    Kombucha Trials

I attempted to make kombucha early last year, but beer brewing took over. One of my goals this year is to make more kombucha. My last scoby went bad - mouldy bad. Entirely my fault, due to bad maintenance (I left it in the cupboard and forgot about it). The new Scoby is from Good Gut Tribe...

    Dark rock IPA kit

I’ve not done a DR grain kit that matches the Oil, but I can say their other Clone kits are great, especially the London Pride. Their West Coast APA is a good crisp pale, maybe nearer to what you’re looking for. The MM Oil kit is good, mine came out a bit hazy but the taste was close.…not exact...

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

I went out to watch the rugby. The local has just put on a bunch of Attic taps. I live 4 miles from the brewery, it’s great to see local bars supporting local breweries. I supported both :beer1:

    90 min mash

I drink a lot of Bathams, bottle and draught. I’ve done GW’s recipe many times on a 60 min mash. If you are looking for a very close interpretation of the original, my humble opinion is that a 90 min mash is not needed
