    never used them but they have simlar properties to logans so if you can't get one thats where i'd start. also where did you get your plant from as i've looked all over? i saw some in south wales growing on a field wall but didn't take a runner as i was away for a while.

    you could try a small green house heater in the winter but i don't no how stable they keep the temp having never used one.

    i've just started to build a press funds available £0 (ha sounds imposible) so far built a 2x4 reinforced frame outa scraps used 10mm threaded rod instead of coach bolts (all left overs form old job) all the joints have also been joined with a epoxy glue (none of these contact with the juice)...

    also try messaging dpile1 i no he had a couple of vines i asked which were ok for british climates this is what he said he also said that edible grapes need sugar tannin and acid adding to make a good wine. hope this helps

    hi how long has it been fermenting ? it will normaly foam alot for a day or two then drop to a bubble. also how much sugar water etc ? start hydrometer reading would also be helpful (but not vital)

    vwp and mix it up strong i just found a top tap king keg in the river the other week was a really off yellow colour and stank after filling a bath i did a big sterlization of all my equipment in it. only problem was it rotted the metal waste in the bath.

    found half a dozen what i thought were sloe bushes but can't see any spikes and the fruits green inside they were planted 12 years ago and have just started to fruit. the fruit all seems to clump together and is blue/purple and waxy like sloes and is about the size of a 5p. any ideas????????

    prob 1 depends what sort of yeasties you used/ temp etc etc if the s.g. drops and it's bubbling away don't worry the only problem with a fast fermentaion is sumtimes it effects the flavour prob 2 also depends on the yeast i don't no what sort you used but yeast ferments at either the top...
