Full Braumeister set up for sale, lots of extras.

Hey Leon and MyQul! How's it going dudes? I'm really good thanks. How are you guys? I just found that I'm not using it enough to warrant keeping it to be honest, I have gone off putting that much energy into something when it could be better used elsewhere in my life. It's a great bit of kit...

    Lacto yeast

I have just ordered some WLP630 Berliner Wiess yeast, thisa is from the website... A blend of a traditional German weizen yeast and Lactobacillus bacteria to create a subtly tart, drinkable beer. Can take several months to develop tart character. Perfect for brewing traditional Berliner...

    Galaxy Hopped Ale

Its not often I'd disagree that you can have too many hops but I had a load of leftover Galaxy from a local brewery - about 300g - and I paired it up with another 100g of Nelson Sauvin. Mostly late additions 10g at 60m then all other additions from 8m onwards. It was bottled on the 25th Feb and...

Brew fridge not cooling below 7 degrees.

Ok, I was wondering if it was something I could do at home. No worries, I think it'll be cheaper for me to buy another one off of Gumtree for £20 then.

Brew fridge not cooling below 7 degrees.

Yes it is running perfectly other than not reaching the lower temps. How do I re gass it?

Brew fridge not cooling below 7 degrees.

My trusty old brewfridge has now decided its not going to cool down below about 7 degrees anymore, it used fine, just decided its not going to bother anymore! It holds 18/22 for fermenting really well. Any fixes for it?

    Adding chocolate

Milk stout, page 163. Cracking beer, really liked it, its ready early too. Its actually more like 21%, I've just worked it out properly, but still a heft amount. The chocolate really punches through but doesn't last months like you'd expect a stout to.

    Adding chocolate

Yea, I did a Mikkeller recipe that had about 25% chocolate malt in it, worked a treat.

    Sparge Water Temperature

+1 for 75. Like IainM I have an all in one system, so I just program it and its away. I have heard that above 75 you risk extracting tannins... that's why I go for 75 for a MO, this is probably subject to argument though, like a lot of things brewing!

    Hi dudes.

Just thought I'd say hello, I'm back :-) Not been on for ages, had a busy few months and also didn't have a kitchen whilst we put a new one in, so no brewing for ages. I'm back on it now though. Did my new pale ale entry for this years Welsh National and UK National HBC's last week and it's...

    Cholocate Milk Stout

Personally I'd go with... Base malt - you need this, obviously. Roasted barley - again, you need this. Choclate malt - definately include this, but push it quite high, the addition of lactose means you can put quite a bit of this in as it tones down the harsh roasty flavours quite a lot and...
