and finished everything including the cleanup.
Over efficient yet again, just under 23L and hit 1071.
Lactose will stop it dropping under 1020 so hoping to finish at 1020+
This is up there with one of the best beers I've brewed although only my second time brewing it. I'm bumping up the volume to get 6 gallons as opposed to 5 but light on a few grams of stuff

Too big, got super high efficiency yet again, 3rd brew on this setup having previously brew in a bag. Getting about 80% going to have to adjust my calculations
1080 OG
1014 FG
85 IBU's
8.7% ABV
Dry hop in secondary at 17c for 36hours and then cold crash the hops at 1c and hold for 10 days.
I can't do any of the above bar the 17c, need me some kegs
Just finished sparging, waiting for the rest to drain. Tis black alright and like a mirror
I should be enjoying my day off :-D
The reciepe is pretty straight forward
90.6% Pale malt
4.9% Carafa 3
4.5% Caramunich 3 or 60L
Bitter with 66% Chinook for 90mins

Even with a 8L brew I'd be surprised you would get that high OG with that much base malt.
I'm getting 1077 in beersmith. I'd also ask your home brew store for a better crush on the grains, you want it much finer for BIAB
This one is from Mitch Steele's book, 25mins into the mash.
I use the white plastic(electric) as a HLT, the rest is all gravity fed, fly sparge with a colander into the stainless steel and get the boil going on the gas
It's not bad per say but I'm not technical enough to explain why you're not going to get increased efficiency since you're not rinsing the grains in an even manner
Fair enough, geterbrewed are based in Antrim. All my online orders are local too considering Ireland is so small :p

I don't think I'll be drinking it until Christmas although I want to wait at least 5 months before bottling, it will probably take another 3 months to carb...
Not sure why the reciepe is converting to US as it's in kilos and grams on beersmith.

Anyway I use a 3 tier system
Electric for the BK
Plastic for Mash Tun
Gas for the boiler
Got 16L at 1100
14 hours later.....
