Even with a 8L brew I'd be surprised you would get that high OG with that much base malt. I'm getting 1077 in beersmith. I'd also ask your home brew store for a better crush on the grains, you want it much finer for BIAB

This one is from Mitch Steele's book, 25mins into the mash. I use the white plastic(electric) as a HLT, the rest is all gravity fed, fly sparge with a colander into the stainless steel and get the boil going on the gas

It's not bad per say but I'm not technical enough to explain why you're not going to get increased efficiency since you're not rinsing the grains in an even manner

Yeah but you're just rinsing the one spot, is the tinfoil moving with gravity during your sparge? I've seen people doing it that way before
