Seen these?
They work, there are plenty of versions, not just this one. I've used them, once inflated they are re-usable. Cheap too, you don't pay for the bulk when you order because they are deflated.

A couple of people have an ongoing thread for their brewdays. Pinching the idea.

As a Linux user, the only reasonable brewing app I have available is Brewtarget. I've noticed IBUs calculated by Brewtarget are significantly lower than those calculated by online tools, such as the one available through this forum.
eg. 27 litre boil; 22 litre batch; 1.050 OG; 50g hops; 7.5...
I have some mild ale malt to use, as I'm coming to the end of a barrel of mild I don't want to make another. I'm saving my pale malt for American & English IPAs, which I want to bottle. So I'm thinking of a "Brown Porter" style beer using Mild Malt that can go into my barrel. I can't think of a...
My partner is a cider drinker but she's fussy, she likes ciders such as Gwynt Y Ddraig, Thistly Cross whisky cask & Thatcher's Katy. I'd like to make something for her but there's little point in doing so unless I can get really high quality. Can anyone suggest any kits or kits-with-tweaks that...

Anyone have an Oatmeal Stout recipe they've used and are happy with? If it helps to narrow things down a bit I have Fuggles and Northern Brewer hops; Pale, Mild, Crystal, Chocolate and Black Malt. All the grains will go into the mash, I will try steeping but I want a reference point first.
I've...
A beer style I haven't drunk in quite a long time is the kind of sweet brown ale that was available in the 60s/70s but has more or less disappeared now. I'd like to have a go at brewing some because I used to like it. Whitbread Forest Brown or Ind Coope Nut Brown would be the kind of thing I'm...

Been reading up on brown ale and was reminded of something that lots of people used to do (me included) - pour a bottle of brown onto a half empty pint of bitter to make a black & tan (other names are available).
Anyone do this with their own beer? Why not give it a go now? Perhaps find a...
Since my equipment will be arriving soon I've been devising a reasonably simple recipe. The aim is to give myself a bit of leeway because I don't really know what efficiency I'll get, how much will remain in the mash tun/ boiler etc. I think the following should be drinkable if the original...
Just placed an order for my brand-new, super-duper, all-inclusive, brewing equipment & ingredients. Bought off Geterbrewed, discount applied, 36 items, 316 quid. :hat:
Wish me well! :drink:
Since joining yesterday I've been working through a shopping list of equipment that I want. Have got most of the answers I need through searches but I can't help myself here.
Back in the day I had two plastic barrels with pressure relief valves that worked with a soda-stream CO2 bottle to...
Hi everyone.
I started brewing beer some time around 1980 and stopped around 2000. Now I'm semi retired and living in a remote location, on an island that has very little real ale, I'm intent on taking it up again.
Have no equipment left, so I'm going to be asking questions. Please be nice!
