    Fridges For Kegerator

I got a 2nd hand 6ft Samsung fridge freezer which is perfect. The fridge section is bigger than the freezer section so there's room for 3 kegs and a shelf at the top to store my hops and yeast. I store my CO2 cylinder outside the fridge, mainly cuz it's tall and heavy!

    What things have you made?

I made an immersion chiller not long back, less than half the price of a ready made one, plus you can get the dimensions exactly right for your kit.

How many fridges does everyone have?

I currently have 4, 1 for food, 1 as a beer fridge for cans/bottles, 1 as a kegerator and 1 as a fermentation fridge. I will be getting another one for the bar once it's up and running.

    The crossmyloof brewery yeast

I'm going to be using their saison yeast this weekend, do you think it's worth fermenting at the higher end of their temperature scale?

Where do you keep your "stuff"?

All my brewing stuff is in a dedicated corner of my garage, yeast is in the fridge and hops in the fridge/freezer

    North East Home Brew Club

So the next home brew club meet up will be at the Split Chimp in Newcastle, somewhere hopefully easy for people to get to. It will be 4th December at 7pm, hope to see people there.

    The crossmyloof brewery yeast

I get all my hops and yeast from them now and the fact they do free delivery is a no brainer really. Can't wait for them to start doing a lager yeast and grain will be spot on too, no need to shop anywhere else?

    Brewing Encyclopedia

I agree, Greg hughes home brew beer is the Bible for home brewing, got loads of recipes in it too. If you want something a bit more technical and scientific then try John Palmer how to brew.

    Another Fridge Question...

I just pass my heater cable and inkbird temperature probe wire through the seal on the hinge side of the door. Why do you need it to be 100% air tight? There isn't much of a gap to be honest, the fridge doesn't really get a chance to turn on anyway living in England! The heater will be getting...

Thinking About Going Over To Cornys.

I would definitely go threaded disconnects, I screw on John guest push fittings which are top notch. You can also easy unattach the beer line from them and wash them which is a bonus.

Thinking About Going Over To Cornys.

I felt a bit like a fish out of water when I started using corny kegs but they're not as scary as I thought. As soon as you know what goes where and what bits of kit you need they're a doddle, I'd never go back to bottling now. If you build your own kegerator you can do it for just over £100...

Thinking About Going Over To Cornys.

This is a list I pulled together for someone, would give you everything you need apart from co2 cylinder. Kegs: http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/a-used-corny-keg-19lt-ball-lock-p-2425.html http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/a-used-corny-kegs-pack-of-3-19lt-ball-lock-p-2796.html...

    Room temp corny storage

Fill to below the bottom of the gas tube, leave at least half inch or so, you need space so that when you put co2 in its filling the head space and not being forced into the beer. Also when you fill with co2 make sure you let the gas out a couple of times via the safety valve to make sure all...
