Brewzilla thread to share knowledge, experiences and good practice

Hi all, just checking that on your first use the bottom of the vessel marked where the elements are? I just have an outline on the metal of the shape of the heating elements. Completely no problem for me, as long as it's meant to happen (also known as - did I do anything wrong).

Great thanks, I’ll give it a whirl (although not sure about the overflow pipe as I haven’t seen it yet, sure it will click when I do!)

    Robobrew - Can I do 10 litres?

Hi all, Im eagerly anticipating my new Robobrew from Angel Homebrew in the next couple of weeks but I have some grain left over for stovetop brewing which will make 2 batches (of different beers) of 10 litres each. Is there any way to brew a 10l batch or do I need to either do 2 more stovetops...

Last time I did this (10litres) I had major problems draining the wort from the grain and it took an age. Any tips?

    Culturing Yeast

Any rules/advice on freezing? I did look into some of the liquid yeast packs but couldn’t justify the cost but, I guess this is the way around that.

    Culturing Yeast

Some great replies here, thanks guys. I feel like I’m going to be the guy with all the gear and no idea and might pick Up a flask and stirring plate. I guess doing this can radically cheapen brews?

    Freemasonry

Wow, a couple of thousand younger than we are! Happy to meet! Are you managing to hold meetings at the moment? We’ve not had a meeting since January and similar to you I should be going through the Chair this year (December) but not much chance of that. First time so I’m hoping to delay to next...

    Culturing Yeast

Hi all, I know a lot of members seem to use yeast from previous or commercial beers in their brewing but Im a bit confused how you go about it. Can someone really Janet and John it for me? Do you need a stirring plate? How long does it last? whats the process of keeping and storing? If you...

    Hop plants/rhizomes - growing report

I’m going to give this a go at the allotment. Do I just stick in the ground over winter or does it need some TLC?

    Freemasonry

I think a lot of that stewards serving lark has stopped now, can’t disagree about the food though!!! Never had so many Sunday roasts! yeah this rule of 6 means that most just aren’t meeting. Add into that members passing and others who can’t be bothered any more and it’s pretty bleak! Chippy...

    Freemasonry

No problem with an answer - the press make it out as being part of ‘The New World Order’ but the reality is it’s just a bunch of blokes getting together, wearing a pinny, eating, drinking and having a raffle. The culmination is that it’s the second largest contributor to charity after the...

Yeah I guess you could get it to be a bit cliquey, we do have a couple of coppers in our hall, although they’re outweighed by the pensioners now :laugh8:
