Lemons limes and oranges in a lager kit?

It's common with grapefruit, I can imagine it with lemons and limes, orange sounds a bit odd. In a 20L batch I reckon something like three fruits would have a noticeable effect, four or even five if you want it to be really up front. Not just the juice though, go at them with a peeler and get...

    Bottling Temperature?

Gas goes the other way too, easiest way to degas a demijohn of wine is to do nothing, it will degas itself given enough time.

    Suggested Inkbird Settings

Worth bearing in mind that the inkbirds are only accurate plus or minus one degree, so there's no point getting hung up on controlling your temps any more accurately than that.

    Safale s-04

My last three brews have been s-04 cold crashed and fined for a week at about 0C and no issues carbing.

"I'm Givin' Her All She's Got, Captain!"

I'd imagine that it'll just keep stopping and starting as the temperature ups and downs, so it will take longer, but that's all. Most yeast can survive cold crashing down to 0C without issue.

Does fermentation airlock need to be centered?

I just scrunch a bit of kitchen roll and bung that into the hole to stop anything crawling in, I've never used a hydrometer on a beer fermenter.

    NEIPA oxidation

And in a lot more detail here: http://brulosophy.com/2017/09/11/the-impact-of-cold-side-oxidation-on-new-england-ipa-exbeeriment-results/

Guinness Extra Stout from Wheeler Edition 1

It could be a typo, the 3rd edition says only 35g of Target [23L version] for 45EBU. No mention of Challenger at all, or any other hops.

    Meringue in my Lager?

Oh my days I wouldn't want that in my kitchen.

    Meringue in my Lager?

Made up a batch yesterday, the fermenter went in the fridge at about 25C and cooled over night to 10C. It has a layer of what appears to be foam on top, half an inch thick and still rising, pure white and really thick consistency, it looks like, and seems to have the same consistency as [I...

Liquid Malt Extract - Help needed

I bought this, at £12 for 2kg it's more expensive but packaged into 1/3kg jars is convenient and sanitary. No added ingredients just barley malt extract: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009F7G19I/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Elvis Juice[s]

Can't remember if it was two or three grapefruits, but whatever it was this is what I decided to do next time: https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/elvis-juice-s.72536/#post-700122

    CRISP MALTS

Do Crisps do the crushing? I buy mine from Malt Miller and assumed it would be them doing so.

    Bottling Temperature?

I've always thought that, but then most chemical reactions happen more slowly at lower temperatures.

    Bottling Temperature?

Best temp to avoid oxidation when bottling. It's in the fridge right now crashed to 0C. Bottle at that or let it warm up to room temp first?

Need a name for my new micropub/brewery

How about emphasising the micro aspect with something with a "mu" in it somewhere then make a mix-up like "µtual", or use it as micro with "µ-pub". I googled both of those and noone has done it before.

Need a name for my new micropub/brewery

I don't think you can really use the word eden if there's one already down the road using it. Also watch out for stuff that's already tied up with google. What I mean by that is that when someone upthread suggested the "edenbridge ale house" I googled it and that took me straight to the website...

    CAMRA stuck in the past?

Please now explain "dildo" to me? I googled it and have no idea why it's the answer, I can't find any reference to the word being used in the context of effeminate.

    CAMRA stuck in the past?

I bet CAMRA could get a great clue out of the word 'nutjob'.
