    Kettle upgrade advice for induction

I tend to do 20/21L batch size so my largest pre-boil volume would be around 29/30L when doing a 90 min boil which leaves plenty of headspace so there's no risk of a boilover. I've now treated myself to a BrewMonk 30L, I've only done one brew on it but I'm impressed so far.

    Kettle upgrade advice for induction

Still works for me, although if I was starting again now I'd probably look at a Brewdevil/Brewzilla type machine

    Vegetarians and Vegans

Guinness stopped using isinglass a couple of years ago, so is now vegan. I'd guess Erdinger is too, as it's German and brewed to the Reinheitsgebot regulations.

    Using 3/16 line for gas

I use 3/16 as it was easier to route through the drain hole rather than drilling holes in the fridge

    Bedford beer festival

I'll be doing my usual volunteering stint behind the bar, I'll be there on the Wednesday evening so say hi if you see a tall long haired beardy bloke. I'm looking forward to the addition of the craft keg beers this year.

Best Star SAN Alternative including all new Chemsan

I think it depends on how you read it: That could be interpreted to mean if you want it to dry then let it air dry rather than use a towel or whatever.

    Reverse Osmosis Water

I ended up getting some from this place last week as I can’t see any difference between that and doing it myself except it’s a lot less hassle getting it from him. He was still a bit wary when I said it was for brewing as he said you're not really supposed to drink it, but I explained that lots...

    Kveik

Yeah I had intended to this time, but I'm an idiot! I'm expecting this one to finish high with the lactose anyway but will see what happens.

    Kveik

Brewed a 20L batch of Impy Stout on Saturday with lactose & cocoa nibs, OG was 1.116. I had about 5ml of Espe in the fridge, it was about 7 months old and I’d intended to do a starter a few days before brewing to build it up. I totally forgot so I just pitched it anyway into my 20L of wort at...

    Reverse Osmosis Water

I found another place near me that sells RO water for window cleaners and aquariums. I phoned to ask if it would be suitable for brewing and the bloke went all weird and couldn't get me off the phone quick enough, he said something along the lines of they're not an information line and he...

PeeBee's Brewday - Low Alcohol Beer

Interesting stuff thanks for posting, I read about this "cold mashing" thing a while ago but couldn't find much info on what the beer turned out like. I'm planning to give it a go with a hazy hoppy pale ale. Did you reuse your grain for a second mash in another beer?

All in one brewing system buyers guide 2019

Good info thanks. I'm considering moving from BIAB to one of these type of systems, currently torn between the BrewDevil/Hopcat/whatever 50L and the BrewZilla 35L, so am interested in any info showing the pros & cons of each.

    Inkbird ITC-308 Wifi video review

Exactly, with a little bit more work that section could be made a lot more useful for brewing purposes

    Inkbird ITC-308 Wifi video review

I've got one of these and it's a great bit of kit, it got me out of a jam allowing me to get another beer going with a heat belt while my fermentation fridge was occupied, and I could keep an eye on the temperature history to make sure it hadn't got too warm. I can see it being really useful...
