Lots of Brew Gear - Mash Tun, Immersion Cooler, Peco False Bottom, FV, other bits and pieces

First all apologies for the late reply. I've had a rather crazy last week organising a big shipment of belongings back to New Zealand. I purchased the item as a 'False Bottom' specifically for the Peco boiler. I can't remember the website I used. I'm not aware of any Ikea parts that are used...

Lots of Brew Gear - Mash Tun, Immersion Cooler, Peco False Bottom, FV, other bits and pieces

Thanks! Yeah, they do seem a bit different in Oz. They're really all about the DIY and alternative methods. I'm hoping for good well water where I'll live!

Lots of Brew Gear - Mash Tun, Immersion Cooler, Peco False Bottom, FV, other bits and pieces

I certainly won't be giving up brewing! Unfortunately I am heading home and home is New Zealand so quite a distance and expensive to ship. I will build a bigger and better system once I'm home!

Lots of Brew Gear - Mash Tun, Immersion Cooler, Peco False Bottom, FV, other bits and pieces

I am unfortunately leaving the country so some of my equipment needs to find a good home! Shipping or pick up from London (live in Hammersmith and work in Leicester Square). Will do a package deal if anyone is keen on everything. Get in touch! Small Cooper Immersion Cooler: Ideal size for 5...

Wanted 40l Boiler or BIAB start up

Its a 33 litre bucket and I didn't have any issue with boil over. Others have reported the simple on/off heater element can be a little too aggressive but I didn't have any issues - it was just a nice steady rolling boil for me.

First Brew Day (BIAB) with a handful of questions/concerns/observations

I wonder if there are any techniques like leaving a grain bag beside warm heater over night to slowly raise their temperature a bit. I guess its something you need to adapt to since different grain quantities are going require different strike temps.

WTD: Bench mounted bottle caper + any other bottling gear

Just thought I'd try my luck and see if has a bench mounted bottle caper they're looking to sell before I splash out on a new one. Also if anyone has any other bottling gear like a tree, squirter etc. Always like to save a couple of quid when I can :thumb:

First Brew Day (BIAB) with a handful of questions/concerns/observations

More good tips, thanks guys. Figuring out my strike temp sounds like a good thing for me to master. The water around the FV is now down to 18.5* and the bubbling has slowed down alot. I'm not sure if this is due to 4 days of fermenting or the reduction in temp. Either way there is still...

First Brew Day (BIAB) with a handful of questions/concerns/observations

Thanks guys! Its good to hear that I'm on track for a successful brew. Lets hope I can keep everything nice and sanitised and that bottling day goes well. OG came out pretty much bang on against what the receipe called for 1.044 vs 1.045 I can drop the water that the FV is sitting in to...

First Brew Day (BIAB) with a handful of questions/concerns/observations

Well I’ve just finished my first brew day! I purchased a used Peco Boiler, BIAB, false bottom and cooper immersion cooler (basically a HBC starter kit). I got all of this for a cheap price delivered to my door from @dweb. Once I purchased the rest of the bits and pieces needed for...

BIAB starter set up from HBC

Thanks for offering it up to me first team. Really refreshing compared to buying car parts on a forum for my race car where everyone is trying to cut each others lunch! Really excited to buy my first pieces of home brew equipment!!

BIAB starter set up from HBC

Hi, is it the Peco model with the adjustable knob to adjust the heat or the on/off switch model? Do you have an approximate indication on shipping to London? Thanks!
