    I live in the tropics, pretty much constant temp of about 32 deg C in my outside kitchen. Just put 80 pints of bitter on and its stopped fermenting after 3 days n 3 nights. i pitched the yeast between 35-40 deg C as i was in a rush n on the way out. Any of you guys ever had a ferment finished...

    hops were EC Golding, just checked the brew n its just about stopped fermenting 3 days n its finished, guess that's the heat of the tropics for ya i'm gutted :(

    2 x 40 pint muntons yorkshire bitter kits, 1.5 lbs Victory malt crushed, steeped & lautered, boiled for 1 hour. 30 grammes hopps added at boiling temp 15 grammes hops added 15 minutes before boil finish. 30 grammes added into fermenting vessel. yeast added @ 35 deg C bubbling away nicely :)

    Is beer yeast as forgiving as distillers yeast? i could transfer a cpl mugfuls of lees from barrel to barrel to get a new batch of "beer" going for sour mash. I bought 2 Lbs of distillers yeast online and only ever used 5 Tablespoons in 3 years :D

    hiya clibit, Thanks for the advice. I have some Muntons wort (kit) for yorkshire bitter, some medium toast grains n hops too. I will break the malt extract into small pieces to insure it dissolves properly and use some with sugar for primary and then on its own for secondary. cheers, kevin
