    Low carb wine

Any progress? I want to know too. Looking for keto friendly wine or at least to minimise set backs. At a tenner bottle I'd prefer to try and brew myself

Is there anyway to rescue a flat brew?

is this the same batch from last year? maybe time to move on!

    Stuck Fermentation question

As far as your bottles blowing up goes - As long as the yeast has been given the chance to ferment everything it can, and the only thing that ferments in the bottle is the priming sugar then you should be fine. it's only if the primary fermentation wasn't finished that you be in trouble. 1020 is...

    So it begins...

I was in the same position this time last year, starting out and looking at the rear of my fridge with a drill. I went for a hole at the very very top and this just seemed to be the place where there was the lowest risk of running into any gubbins. Have you bought a heater for it yet?

Is there anyway to rescue a flat brew?

After bottling my beer spends a week or thereabouts in the hot press - then it's off to the garage.

10 kits in and still tasting green

if you're concerned about your water - why not try a batch using bottled water? When I first started I wanted to make it as fool proof as possible so I bought 5x5l tesco ashbeck water. then of course look at the other factors that you've probably already had loads of advice on, different...

    Raspberry Wheat Beer

How are you making sure that no "bits" get through?

    Milestones kits

Funny thing is I had a bad feeling about this -the yeast they supplied was muntons. I've done two muntons kits that both stuck at 1020 and the only thing that could get them going again was dry beer enzyme. I've just given it a gentle stir and I'll check it again tomorrow to see if there is any...

    Milestones kits

Any idea what you FG was? mine has been sitting at about 1021 for a few days now - I'm beginning to worry it has stuck

    Milestones kits

I'll wait until the beer is ready before I do any tasting! Amazing though that such a small amount can flavour 19 litres of beer!

    Milestones kits

funny i just started a raspberry the other day myself and I noticed the same thing with the instructions. The sheet inside the box are generic "how to brew a kit instructions" but the side of the box gives the specifics for that kit. I just caught it in time. That said your raspberry will be a...

    Best yeast for cider?

I have only dabbled in making cider with tesco value juice and I used youngs cider yeast. It got everything fermented nicely but my only complaint was that when pouring into a glass the sediment would get stirred up very easily. I'm used to a more compact yeast that i would get with an Ale. I...

    Foolproof wheat beer?

A while back i used a coopers canadian blonde kit and added strawberry Ribena to it - For an experiment based on little experience it came out pretty well. It could have been sweeter (and probably better in a load of other ways) but you could try this with a wheat beer kit perhaps? Just work out...

    Recommend me a lager kit

    heat belt/tray

Aye lager yeast works at a lower temp to Ale yeast - so i guess it makes sense to try and use the natural temps in your house to your advantage. here's what I'm brewing: http://www.coopers.com.au/the-brewers-g ... tage-lager

    how to make stout creamyer

so what's this about oats? do you just throw them in or do you have to roast them or what? I did a coopers irish a while back, it was alright, The taste is ok but it was a bit watery and gassy. Problem is being from ireland I've only ever drank the black stuff and of course that is my only real...

    heat belt/tray

here's a slightly irrelevant point but with the drop in temperature my spare room is sitting nicely in the 14-18 degrees bracket so I'm brewing some lager in there now (point being you can brew lager at a lower temperature). No heating or electric required, with energy prices these days...
