    Fermzilla Dry Hopping

Question for the brain trust. I just brewed a NEIPA, and plan to dry hop on 3 occasions, the first being 2 days into fermentation. My original plan was to introduce the hops using the collection jar on the Fermzilla which would allow me to purge them with CO2 before anything comes into...

    Stir plate advice needed

Hi guys Was attempting my first ever yeast starter, bought 2 Intllab stir plates (both came with a 1 inch stir bar) a 2l conical flask and a 3l conical flask. Problem is that I can’t get a whirlpool going in the 3l flask? Does anyone know if a bigger stir bar would fix the problem?

    Dry hop a Pilsner

Anyone have any success in dry hopping a Pilsner in the keg? I have way more Pilsner than I want to drink, and was hoping I could turn it into more of an APA tasting beer. I was thinking about maybe adding Citra or Amarillo but worried I’d just be ruining a perfectly good lager and wasting...

    Brew Con World Series III

Anyone else entering? I've signed up for an APA and a RIS so far, but might use up my other two possible entries later if slots are still available.

    Munich Malt Differences

Hi Guys I’ve made a Munich Dunkel quite a few times now, and it always came out well. I’d always used Weyermann, but got a hold of some Crisp Munich. The Dunkel made with Crisp Munich was awful, best way I can describe the taste was ‘raw’. I made the same recipe twice with Crisp malts...

    Brewdog Fanzine

Hi Guys I just signed up to Brewdog Fanzine, 3 cans a month of new experimental beers for £11 delivered. Sounds pretty good to me, really looking forward to trying some beers I otherwise wouldn't buy. Maybe expand my tastes a little. Anyone else subscribed?

WHC Kveik - The wall and Ubbe

Hi All I've been avoiding Kveik strains on the basis that if something sounds too good to be true it usually is. The trend has been going for so long now that I can't help but think I'm missing out though. 'The wall' suggests it can make lager style beers quickly, has anyone tried it...

    Goose Island Midway Session IPA

Hi Gents There was a post about this last year, thought I'd resurrect the theme and see if anyone has had any luck in finding a decent clone recipe?

    Elvis Juice

Hi Guys Brewed an Elvis Juice clone, turned out pretty well so I wanted to share my experience. Recipe was straight from DIY Dog, slight variation was a 60 min mash at 67C and the use of 2 packs of US-05. Zest of 3 grapefruit was added at 10 mins before end of boil. Just the right amount...

    Elgin/Moray Bottle Swaps

Hi All I’d quite like to widen my beer related horizons, as well as get some informed feedback on my own brews. If anyone in the Moray area fancies the occasional bottle swap please give me a shout. Ray

Interested in Moray beer swap club?

Hi Gents I'm trying to gauge the interest in starting some sort of beer swapping club in Moray? In my mind we could start off just swapping a few bottles of each brew, and if there was enough interest possibly form a club at some point in the future. I'm still very new to brewing, and...

    Cider Force Carbonation Nightmare

I made a batch of 'on the rocks' cider which turned out ok, my problem now is with force carbonating it. I tried the fast method, 40psi and shaking the corny keg for an hour, then overnight at 20psi. After that failed I left it at 40psi for two days, but that still turned out nearly flat...

    Treating a kit cider

Gents I've just racked two lots of 'on the rocks cider' kits to a secondary fv. I'm aiming for a kopperberg/alcopop feel, the idea being to force carbonate them. My plan, based on a fairly limited understanding, is to treat them with campden tablets then clear them with kwikclear before...

    Winebuddy Chardonnay too sweet

I'm very new to this, so am hoping an experienced member will take pity on me and answer my stupid question :) I've now bottled my second batch of winebuddy Chardonnay, and they've both turned out very very sweet. I've also bottled two batches of the winebuddy Merlot, and they both...
