    What are you drinking tonight?

Drinking a bottle of my Brewferm Grand Cru that i bottled in November. The harshness has gone now and it is maturing nicely, the malty flavour is coming through beautifully. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

    Black Rock American Pale Ale

Not that expensive, works out 70p per bottle which is fine in my books 😊 I doubled up to keep the hop balance, plus they have the recommendation on the tins. To either add a tin of black rock extra light or for a bigger hit use anoth tin of the apa.

    Black Rock American Pale Ale

I did not add anything extra, just the two cans and the two yeast. It is supposed to be heavily hopped with cascade, so will taste test it 2 weeks into fermentation. I may dry hop with extra cascade if it needs it.

    Advice for pressure barrel priming

85g is a good amount as that is what i use on my pressure barrels. It gives a nice head and has just the right carbonation. Certainly not flat and not too fizzy either. I know what you mean about bottles being over carbed as i find that now since using a pb, i prefer my own now.

    costs

I do mainly extract so with a kit and dme (and yeast if i buy it) then cost is 60p per 500ml if i keg - based on ingredients costing £24. If i bottle then it costs 17p more as i buy 6 packs of spring water at 99p a pack, and dispose of the bottle afterwards. 77p is an acceptable price for me.

I need to stop brewing All Grain

If you have a gravity fed system with a hot water cylinder, then you will have a header tank in the loft that feeds the cylinder. Open it up sometime and look at the crud that gets in the tank, including dead beasties. This is why you dont drink from the hot tap 😀
