    Favourite snack.

I worked with a SA woman who introduced me to it. She used to bring in Kudu and Springbok Biltong whenever she went back to visit home.

    Perfect Tea & Toast Breakfast

But the toast must be crisp and cold so the butter doesn’t melt into the marmalade!

The downfall of the Tory party.

Absolutely agree 👍🏻 For what it’s worth how much effort has been put into finding out why these kids feel the need to protect themselves? If they genuinely feel that they’re at risk of violence or worse surely that’s what needs to be an addressed. I know some members might disagree with me...

    smart meters

100% agree, that’s always been my attitude too. Getting one installed in a couple of weeks however as it allows me to switch to a cheaper tariff meaning charging EV drops from 18.5p KWh to 7.5p KWh. Still dislike them in principle, particularly the ability to remote switch customers to prepay...

Ulez expanded to include whole of outer London

Just a random aside, I hate the supermarket plastic bag charge. I use to use the free plastic bags as kitchen bin liners, now I have to buy bin liners instead. Result is same amount of plastic bags used but it’s costing me more.

    Cash or card

Same here. I gave up carrying cash about six years ago and gave up carrying a wallet during the pandemic. Phone or watch now.

    Just stop oil

You’re absolutely right, but perhaps as a society we would be fitter with fewer ailments if more people did.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna75620 She has a young grandchild who is not yet able to think or articulate on this scale. She is protesting to protect his future and the future of his environment and I for one applaud her for her actions.

Yeah and that’s not exactly ideal either. We can’t just go on burying stuff in the ground and pretending it’s sorted. Too many people sticking their fingers in their ear and going la la la la la, out of sight out of mind. Too many companies coining it in while f’ing over kids and grandkids...

Carbon capture. Hmm, I’m not sure I like the idea of sweeping problems under the rug and leaving them for future generations to deal with. It’s the CO2 equivalent of landfill, not cool.

Public support doesn’t matter, they just need to make it not economically viable to be ignored.

A huge amount of China’s pollution is caused by producing stiff for the Uk, EU and USA. Can we put a huge dent in it alone, maybe not. We are one of the richest nations on earth and we consume a disproportionate share of its resources. Our wealth and global influence makes us key (particularly...

And yes we’re not talking about votes etc and yes it’s a clumsy example. My point is that the status quo doesn’t change willingly because someone with power and money loses out.

Women spent decades trying to get the votes, no one took any notice until the suffragettes, a group who sacrificed their lives and threatened the lives others too action. Change doesn’t come about through peaceful protest of banner waving. I don’t advocate violence but it’s an inescapable fact...

    First Bike

Thanks for the benefit of your experience, balance bike it is then. I”ll freely admit that bikes weren’t really on my radar. My Dad had a disability that meant he never learned to ride a bike so in the end another kid taught me when I was eight or nine years old. Jof - yeah, I’d say that’s a...
