    Volvo

I have a few electric and hybrid vehicles (approx. 35%) on the fleet that I run. Overall the electric ones have been pretty good for us and are used daily. The only issue is staff not listening to advice on how to maximise their range. I took one from Edinburgh to Silverstone last year and...

    Brew by James Morton

Maybe complete **** or take the next few year to mellow out but had to give it a shot. Tried the small amount in the sample jar after taking the latest SG reading and you can definitely taste the alcohol. More of a sipping stout i think if there is such a thing.

    Brew by James Morton

I did the Paradigm Shift Stout a little over a week ago. Massive grain bill so had to mash in two stages and combine the wort for the boil. Didn't hit the OG and if it gets down to 1.036 as it has it in the book will be 12.1% Then its time to store it till Christmas to mature or...

    Ingredient Dilema

Thanks for these, I thought the first bag wasn't going to be too much of an issue trying to find something. The other two I had no idea what to do with. I just have to wait a few weeks for the stout currently fermenting to finish.

    Ingredient Dilema

Once of the reasons I went for the kits from Malt Millar was it supplied the exact qty. As you can see i have odds & sods in my inventory. So I have the following: Hops 120g EKG - 6.8% 210g Centinnial 11.2% 110g Cascade Pellets 8% 20g Cascade Leaf 6.6% 50g Saaz 3.4% 50g Challenger...

    Ingredient Dilema

Thanks for the replies, I've already purchased the other ingredients to do the original stout and brewed it last Monday. Currently going like a rocket with an OG of 1.110. I just don't want these other ingredients to go to waste on some concoctions I've come up with myself as i'm pretty new...

    Ingredient Dilema

I recently ordered the Paradigm Shift Stout recipe kit from The Malt Millar. This has a massive grain bill that would not have fitted into my MT so the idea was to split the grains and do double mash, combine the wort into the BV and go from there Unfortunately the grains where milled...

    Giveaway Inkbird IBT-2X thermometer+ 2 sensors

I would love to test one Marina, the Bluetooth app would come in very handy to monitor the mash temps without having to stay in the garage.

    Yeast starter question

Thanks for the replies, I brewed the pilsner anyway, so lets hope the yeast is still nice and healthy. At least it gave me another brew under my belt.

    Yeast starter question

I was hoping to brew a Czech Pilsner tomorrow and in preparation I have made up a yeast starter that's been fermenting away on my stir plate in the fridge for the last few days at 12 degrees. I have dislodged the temp sensor so that it was sitting outside the fridge and thus caused the...

    Greg Hughes - Milk Stout

The best bit about the brew was that even after it had been sitting in the bottom of the chest freezer for a few hours it still had a nice head on it.

    Greg Hughes - Milk Stout

It did look a cracker. I had another pint last night and being a complete novice with only a handful of brews under my belt I was extremely happy with the result. So in preparation for a Czech pilsner that I'm hoping to brew on Wednesday I ventured in to the garage. Thought I'd to do a...

    Kegging and serving stouts

Just poured my first pint from a milk stout i brewed about 6 weeks ago. I'm only using CO2 in a corny. I've got the temp set at 8 degrees and 11PSI pressure. The picture is after its been carbing for 3 days and i just couldn't wait any longer. Came out pretty good just using a normal tap but...

    Greg Hughes - Milk Stout

Finally got to try the milk Stout. After yet another stuck sparge and what seemed like an eternity waiting for it to condition, it has actually turned out the best brew so far.

    Father and Daughter brew day

I used one of the kits, it didn't come out quite like the 5AM Saint with nowhere near the hop aroma but still drinkable.

    Greg Hughes - Milk Stout

As the title suggest I'm brewing the Greg Hughes Milk Stout from his book tomorrow Had to tweak it a little bit as my BH efficiency is about 60 -65% looking at the most recent brews. Obviously the grain bill has increased slightingly to compensate along with the hops. After posting in...

    Greg Hughes book discounted

Just looking at the grains I've got and the Special B is not suitable for steeping according to the label. I also read that to make up for the inefficiency of cold steeping to increase the specified amount of grains by 10-15% - are you doing this? Also what yeast are you using. The shop I...
