Thanks for this, very helpful. My next brew is going to be an American ale, which I think will benefit from dry-hopping. The problem is I brew in demijohns, so bags aren't really an option. So I'm fine to put the pellets in directly right?

You ever tried Dr Pepper slow cooker pulled pork? Tastes great (even works with Diet Dr Pepper to cut out the sugar!)

I just boil the kettle twice and top up to the 4l I mash with cold water, it only needs a quick burst on the gas then to get to mash temp. No idea if there are any reasons not to do it this way, but seems to work for me. Always wondered why people heat up from cold!
