The true £ cost of home brewing

a good quality all malt kit plus water , electric etc and taking into account that you don't actually get 40 pints out of a kit , I reckon runs out to a bout 70p a pint , you can certainly buy some supermarket beer in that price range. But it's a good hobby non brewers think your clever and I...

    Wilko Sweet Newkie Brown

Long time (15 years ) , beer kit brewer here. IMO there is nothing that will improve a beer kit more than using malt instead of brewing sugar. There really is no comparison in quality

How to make the most of your beer kit

Hi All, I have not posted on here for a long time but the kit brewing still goes on and I think will be with me for life. If you are new to brewing with kits the best advice i can give you is that time in the bucket and time in the bottle solves most problems. Home brew beer got a...

Woodfordes Wherry - first brew for 20 years

Woodefordes are good kits but not particularly better than any of the other 3kg kits. Stick to the all malt kits choose a type of beer you enjoy, try to let the beer mature a couple of months and you will be fine

    Kit review: Muntons Imperial stout

if you remember I had an excited first fermentation of this brew. Well its been bottled for 2 weeks and typical of the child in me I always try a bottle of a new kit asap. Well its excellent as good as I have ever done  12 out of 10 etc etc. Oh the second bottle has been opened whoops...

do i have to sanitize spring water bottles

I would say no. I use lemonade and cola bottles I rinse them out and bottle my beer and I dont seem to have had a problem. Sterilisation is to me quite a strange term to me when most of us ( I assume ) use tap water to top up our buckets. There is nothing wrong with tap water but sterile it...

Do you want to sell me some beer Kits

As some of you know I am very frustrated by the lack of competition and offers in the home brew market. It did occur to me that there might be some owners of brewing shops who visit this forum. So: Me and my mate are going to buy next week 6 Muntons Gold ( 3 kg ) Kits delivered to one location...
