    Beer and whisky

I think you can use the freeze distilling method to increase the strength of beer. Not sure distilling works. You can get a still in a number of online homebrew shops so you can make your own distilled water ;)

    Sugar and other ingredients

I know a guy who uses Sugar Puffs in beer. He makes good beer too. Go for it.

    Fermentation fridge

I would check it is standing level. Sounds to me it's standing crooked so is off square. An adjustment of the feet should sort it out.

    Windy Miller is an Alcoholic

If he got drunk he would have mistimed the sails on the windmill and lost his head going on and out.

    The dog has farted!

It's quote normal for some yeasts to smell really bad when fermenting, especially lager yeast. I wouldn't worry about it. It will sort itself out in time.

    Ebay cornelius kegs anyone?

I think we need a good photo of the connectors so we can identify what they are.

FAO Gray's Alchemy - picture framing question

How do I make a poster hang flat in a glass fronted frame. Do I glue it to a back board or just tape it at the top of the back board and let it hang. There will be a mount between the poster and the glass.

The 'end' of Widows XP - New PC time!

You really need to ask what you use a computer for. I have just bought myself a Windows 8.1 touch screen laptop. It cost £300.00 It's a brilliant bit of kit and runs everything I need. It only had a 10 inch screen and is really lightweight and had a 6 hour battery life so is really...

    50l Thermopot Mash Tun

That's exactly where they come from. We used to be able to buy them direct until they stopped selling to the UK. Certain homebrewing suppliers in the UK seem to have done some sort of deal though so they can buy them and sell them at an inflated price. This of course only works as there is...

    My new bar

Hand pulls look fantastic on a bar and give a really nice feel/condition to your beer. I prefer my beer out of a handpull even if it is coming from a keg. I use Sankey kegs like these as they seal at really low pressures which is what you need if dispensing from a keg with a handpull...

    50l Thermopot Mash Tun

+2 :thumb: Really good guy to deal with and it's top quality stuff. The other option for a 50 litre bottom drining Mash Tun is this one from the Malt Miller. Again excellent quality and a good guy to deal with. http://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/index.ph ... ductId=326

Coffee a new adventure for me

If you use the pressurised basket on the Gaggia classic it doesn't need such a fine grind, but also doesn't make such nice Espresso. I replaced my baskets with the standard unpressurised ones, and usually use the naked portafilter so that requires a very fine grind, like flour. Yes, a very...

Gas burner, canister/tubing/fittings advice + availability

The canister size does actually make a difference in it's ability to effectively boil the gas inside the cylinder to produce the vapour that you burn. Larger bottles work better than the smaller ones. Personally I use a 19kg cylinder and that works fine, I think some people use smaller ones...

Coffee a new adventure for me

I couldn't get my Gaggia grinder to grind the Beans fine enough for my Gaggia classic coffee machine to work properly so ended up buying the Iberital MC2. I also find that different beans do result in me having to adjust the grinder to give me the correct grind for the perfect Espresso shot.
