Not tried the IPA but I do like the gold

I use Tesco everyday value bottled water, about 17p ish for 2L. Our water is very hard here so the Tesco stuff is alot better ( pretty sure its just filtered tap water but its cheap and better than out the tap).

Summer ale extract kit

After my first time bottling with Grolsch bottles yesterday, bottling. Removing the tops and washers, using the cleaner/steraliser, rinsing, Starsaning, refitting tops and washers and then finally filling the bottles. Took for ever

Quick update, its been 16 days in the FV and just checked the FG to see if its done. FG was 1010 (should be 1015) with OG 1062 (should be 1073) but topped up to 21L instead of 19L as per the instructions. So should be about 6.8% :drunk: Had a lovely smell when I opened the lid and really clear...

Just wondering if its ok to stick the bottles with the swing tops attached in the oven to sterillise them? Or do you remove the swing tops? Will remove the rubber seals first. Any tips on cleaning (just bought 50 odd bottles off ebay), I normally just wash all my gear with washing up liquid...

Quick update as I realised I don't actually have as many empty bottles in the garage as I thought I did :doh: . But my dad just won an auction on ebay for 50 Grolsch 440ml swing tops for �£15, local collection only. So as long as nothing goes pear shaped the capper is on hold for a while.

I had a bad case of the man flu last week, didn't stop me brewing though :mrgreen:
