Need help replacing my tea urn tap

Hey I do my brewing in a big Burco tea urn - its worked great and have no problems. Only thing that is less than ideal is the tap, its obviously designed to fill a cup of tea, not link pipes to or move water out quickly. So I can take it off easily - problem now is i just can't find a...

2.5 Year old grain and hops..

So a house renovation and setting up a business and i've gone about two an a half years without brewing. Got all my equipment out of the cellar to clean and i've got several packs of unopened hops, and unopened bags of uncrushed grain. What do we reckon, 2 and half years later are they still...

Chocolate malt mixed into my pale malt

Hops - Double alpha acid = half quantity?

Is it that simple? I'm going to follow Greg Hughes Amarillo single hop recipe, which has Amarillo hops with an alpha acid of 5.5%, having a look on Malt Miller, their Amarillo harvest is 10.8%, so pretty much double. Does this simply mean using half the quantity of hops for the same affect...

    First AG - BIAB - (sort of)Patersbier

I've done a few kits and decided to throw myself into AG. I'm interested in smaller batches, and BIAB appealed to the tight Yorkshireman in me as I could buy less equipment. I went for Greg Hughes Patersbier because it looked fairly simply, and is the style of beer that I like, a few on here...

Too much water in the fermenter?

Hey all, Quick newb question, I've recently started with kits (already very excited). I've just set up a Coopers European Lager fermenting, when I was filling the vessel there was loads of foam, and I filled up to what appeared to be the 23L mark. Now the foam has settled the water level...
