    Pint365 beer engine

www.pint365.com Anyone using one? A forum Search shows @St00 may have one? I'm after some feedback? I've always fancied a beer engine and bid for them a few times on eBay but for one reason or another they've always fallen through. The thing that's put me off in the past of going the beer...

    May is Mild month

Been looking at what ingredients I have left and decided that I could probably stretch them to two brews if I went for a fairly low abv mild. I'm also thinking that's a good drink to enjoy sat out in the sunshine whilst on lockdown, anyone else brewing a mild for May? Also what's your favourite...

My large Co2 bottle ran out last week, luckily I still have a sodastream bottle and some smaller (8g?) Fermentation Temperature Stabilisation System (FTSS)

Just seen that there is a version 2 of this available now that incorporates both heating and cooling FTSS2 for SS brew master fermenters I looked into this before but at that time you could either pump chilled water or warm water around the system whereas the version 2 switches on the pump for...

    Warm weather brew ideas?

I've decided to dedicate my brew fridge to beer storage for the next few weeks so will be fermenting at ambient temperatures for a few brews, I'm aware of techniques such as swamp coolers, damp towels with fans to help keep temperatures down but I'm also going to be selecting yeasts that can...

    Educate me about Saison

It's not a beer I had tried before but because it gets so many mentions on homebrew forums i thought I would have a try at one, so I ordered a recipe pack (as per Greg Hughes recipe). Just after ordering the pack i was out in a brewdog pub and tried a Saison they had on Draught, it was ok but I...

    Aaaaaagh.

I thought it would be a great idea that whilst fermenting a lager at 11 Deg c, I could also keep a keg of british ale in my brewfridge at cellar temperature. Unfortunately I went away for a few days, just got back looking forward to a pint and find the fridge switched off and lager at 14 Deg c...

    Markings for no chill cube?

I've just picked up some reverse osmosis water from an aquarium place near me. Will the container it came in double up as a no chill cube? Triangle recycling mark on bottom of the container has "02" I'm it.

    Water for wine kit's

It's a long time since I made any wine but stocks are getting low and I need to take a break from beer brewing to top up the red wine supply. Electricity company are putting our bills up by £20 per month due to increased usage and according to SWMBO it's my beer fridge that's caused this increase. Could it really be burning through that much electricity? I bought a second hand American type larder fridge / freezer initially as a...

Fridge or freezer for fermenting chamber?

It's my birthday today and have just been given an inkbird controller and a promise of a dedicated fridge for brewing in :thumb:. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that a freezer might be more economical to both buy and use and may have more internal space so just wanted to check what people...

    Kolsch, first taste

Brewed the Greg Hughes Kolsch recipe using cml kolsch yeast. It's still very young but just sampled the first bottle. It's not what I was expecting, more pale ale like than lager tasting, quite sweet and fruity. Not unpleasant at all and I could definitely see myself drinking this in the...

    Hop rhizomes from plants.

Does anyone know how to get rhizomes from a hop plant, to start new plants? Presumably it's just a matter of digging up a section of the existing root system but what time of year should this be done? Also my plants are in the first year so should I allow them to get more established before...
