    Offers on Wilkos kits

Online Wilkos have reduced their kits from £12 to £9.50. Not sure if the offer is the same for in store products.

    Lager and lime recipe needed

I'm looking to make a lager and lime brew for my old man in the summer. We are having a party and he likes Kronenbourg with a splash of lime, and I want to surprise him with a clone of his favourite tipple. Has anyone any previous experience of tweaking kits to get such a brew? I have read on...

    Cold crashing advice needed

2 weeks ago I racked 38 bottles of Coopers Stout. I used a PB with 80g of white sugar to fill the bottles. Once filled I squeezed until the beer reached the top to remove air then tightly screwed the caps on the PET bottles. I left all the bottles in a warm place for a week and they seemed to...

    Advice for brewing pear cider

I'm relatively new to brewing and have tried half a dozen beer kits to date. I'm not set up for AG brewing and therefore have no experience in it. Same goes for cider brewing, I know nothing about it. My neighbour's pear tree is ready to start dropping it's fruit and every year he always has...

My neighbour's pear tree is ready to start dropping it's fruit and every year he always has more than he can eat. Has anyone got any easy recipies...

    Coopers English Bitter fermentables

I picked up a Coopers English Bitter can at the weekend. I'm looking for advice on what fermentables to use, what has anyone used in the past that has worked well? I have 1kg of brewing sugar and 500g of medium spray malt in the cupboard. Will this combo work? Cheers.

    Sediment left in FV

Ok, a newbie question! After I've syphoned off my beer into my barrel there is a load of sediment/gunk left in the FV. The questions are: Is it reusable yeast? What is the best thing to do with it?

    Coopers PET Bottles

These seem to get a pretty good review. Newbie questions!: Are you limited on how long you can keep your beer in these as opposed to glass bottles? I've seen comments about squeezing out as much air as possible once they are filled as the secondary fermentation will push out the bottle later...

    Cleaning your barrel

I have a Young's 5 gallon barrel and the neck is too narrow to get anything in it to clean it. Is Miltons solution ok to use to clean the gunk off?

    No pressure from my barrel?

Last night I had my first taste of my second ever batch that I've brewed. It is Festival Pilgrims Hope. I had in the FV for 2 weeks, conditioning in the barrel for 1 week then moved it to my garage as I was going on holiday. It sat in there for 3 weeks and tastes ok, clearer than my first...

    A clear brew?!

Hi all, I'm a newbie to homebrewing so am pleased to join this forum. Just a question... I brewed American Amber Ale and being the impatient chap I am I started drinking it from the barrel just before 3 weeks of conditioning, it was still cloudy which Iput down to my eagerness...
