    Infrared Thermometer £4.10

1.5 degree accuracy... :| I have literally no idea how this would compare with anything else though.

    Tokyo*

Tokyo is a great beer... although while I'm normally a bit skeptical of collaborations, Tokyo Black Horizon is one of the all time greats. https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/brewdog-nogne-o-mikkeller-black-tokyo-horizon/137813/

    BrewDog - Mr President

Decent beer - if you can bear to drop below 9%, the Stone IPA and Vocation Life and Death can usually be found in the same offer and are recommended.

Beer you just don't like/can't drink

Agree wholeheartedly... plus David Cameron's favourite drink... https://www.channel4.com/news/politics-alcohol-nigel-farage-david-cameron-tony-blair

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Been very interested in this since it popped up in the other thread. Friend of mine who posts here sporadically is going to try to build one - will report back should we be successful. Have also found what looks like a pre-built version... http://www.3d-mechatronics.de/en/ispindel_10956391065/

    Tesco India Pale Ale

I've had one - its a bit meh. Quite partial to picking one up for Steak and Ale pie purposes though.

FOR SALE: All Grain Starter Kit! 32L Pot, Mash Tun, Fermentors and Grains! S.Yorks

Jimmy - just a couple of quick questions if you don't mind, but interested and based in Sheffield. Does the mash tun have the sparge arm? Also - is the pot stainless? Can't see myself going over to gas, but just pondering how difficult it would be to move the element from my peco.

    Best commercial beer

If it interests - Magic Rock's Highwire Grapefruit is a much better hoppy craft IPA/grapefruit combo.

    15% off INKBIRD ITC-306T for 2 days

Ta - thought as much. Thinking of getting an inkbird primarily for holding sparge/strike water at temp if I move from BIAB to a Mash tun - so I guess this would do... but conscious that I may also want to build a ferm chamber in the not to distant future. 308 isn't too much more in any case.

    15% off INKBIRD ITC-306T for 2 days

No cooling - does this mean this would be no good for running a fermentation chamber? Thanks in advance.

    Mash Tun Question

    Sounds sensible... Cheers

    Mash Tun Question

So I'm thinking about getting a cool box style mash tun instead of BIAB... nothing fancy... just basically all the mess I make during the brewing is between Mash out and starting the boil. I'm planning to stick with 5 gallon batches for the foreseeable... All I'm looking to find out is...

    Suicidal Hydrometers

I find leaving my hyrdrometer in the kitchen somewhere... usually with a maturing sample of whatever is going left in it to be an adequate storage method... and only a minor barrier to a happy marriage.

    Carbonating a keg

You can force carbonate beer in a keg... just add lots of CO2 (google force carbonation, there are charts and everything). If you don't have a decent sized CO2 cylinder then this isn't an option. The options are to turn it up to the required PSI and leave for a week or so... or some derivation...

    Brew by James Morton

Have this book... Suits me and my beer tastes very well. Much better for a beginner than anything else I've seen

Just built an Immersion Chiller. Pretty Happy.

Looks really good - This was my plan however it worked out cheaper to buy with a BIAB starter kit since I needed the boiler and related gubbins.

    Pressure barrel storage or alternative.

It's definitely easier to keg - but on balance I think the bottling is worth it. Especially at first. The option to store bottles for a long time and go back to them, or share with your friends outweighs the pain for me. I've always just bottled - but have the benefit of a cellar to keep it...

    Ventilation help

Thanks. This is what I had in mind... Although I may try moving outside first

    Ventilation help

That's pretty much what I was afraid of... This looks a good fan... Alas I'm not quite getting to 100l boils any time soon. But for this price range I'd probably get a hole knocked through and replace the kitchen hood instead... Thanks though.
