    FREE to a good home...

I have about 300 x 500ml glass bottles if anybody wants them ( 75% brown, 25% green), and about 50 odd plastic PET bottles. Completely free. I would rather someone was able to make good use of them, as opposed to me disposing of them in a bottle bank. Let me know if you would like them, please.

    Home brew stuff for sale

I think there is a larger fitting that can be bought and fitted on the end of the Capper. The one I have suits regular 500ml beer bottles. I have had no issue capping various types of 500ml bottles with the Capper.

Bottling wand, 80 bottle drain tree, Brewferm Capper and bottle washer/steriliser. £40 for the lot (plus postage)?

    Home brew stuff for sale

The bottling wand is designed to attach and detach from the bottling bucket tap, so that’s not a problem. A picture of the Brewferm Capper is attached. Would you like the bottle caps, too? The 80 bottle tree drainer disassembles very easily so including this wouldn’t be a logistical issue if you...

I am sure it has a proper name but it’s this. You put sterilising solution into the bowl, put the neck of the upturned bottle over the pointy bit and push down and release (spring loaded). I usually pump about 6 times per bottle to sterilise than leave to drain on the bottle tree ready to fill.

That's it! Sunny Carlton Colville, actually. But all under the Lowestoft umbrella.

    Home brew stuff for sale

After a couple of very enjoyable years brewing my own beer, I have decided to call it a day. Before I list my collection of equipment for sale on the usual sites I would like to present this to members in recognition of all the help and support that has been given to me during this time. If...

    Labeling your own bottles

Avery Design and Print. Free software download and an app version, too. Simple but it does the job nicely. I’m all Apple - iMac, iPad and iPhone versions.

    The down the sink thread

Many thanks, #Slid. Clearly I want to avoid going from one extreme - over carbonated bottles - to the opposite extreme - flat beer. Presumably the sugar will be used up by residual yeast so I won't end up with a sweet flavoured result. What about 85g ordinary sugar?

    Flavouring beer?.

Are there flavoured concentrates that could be added to conventional beers? As a fan of Belgian fruit flavoured beers I have brewed a Brewferm Kriek, which is quite nice, and also a Bulldog Strawberry Pale Ale, which is excellent in my opinion. I have a couple of standard non-fruity Belgian...

    The down the sink thread

Thanks for the great suggestion! Sounds like a plan. :thumb: I have tried the usual things, like opening the cap slightly and leaving for a while, but I never thought to rebottle it. Maybe all is not lost after all. Will I need to do any re-priming, or will it regain some fizz with re-conditioning?

Where there's muck there's brass. "Dutto's Delight". A Dragon's Den contender if ever I saw one. Look forward to seeing it on supermarket shelves, right next to Reggae Reggae Sauce...

    The down the sink thread

Back in March I brewed an Ultimate Octoberfest special. New to me at the time was the Brewers Friend priming calculator so I decided to give it a go. About 250g of ordinary sugar was indicated. Seemed rather high but I decided to go with it. After all, I do like a few bubbles rising up my glass...
