    Boots Homebrew

All of my original homebrew equipment came from Boots, probably 1988. I still use the glass sample jar and 2 lever capper.

    Buffalo 3kw hob getting hot

You can buy heat-proof flex from the likes of Toolstation which will cope with the 3kw. Although it's not cheap. I've not researched plugs.

    Marston Horninglow Street

Don't know about the beer, but I associate Horninglow St with Bass, not Marstons.

    Wychwood Bottles

Think they've changed the bottle shape within the last year to use less glass, so now there's no nobbly bit at the top and my 2-lever hand bottler works fine on these new ones.

OK, Am I the only one here for whom GF means girlfriend? This post reads SO differently to me to how it was intended....

    Bought beer..

Not bought any commercial beer for 3 years (other than in pubs). Occasionally I might be tempted by the beer aisle, but I can't really justify to myself buying any when i have so much homebrew of different styles sitting around the house!

    Beer came out sour

Yes, if it's sour, you don't need very much lemonade at all to mask that flavour. Tesco 2L cheapo lemonade is 17p a bottle.

    Bottles

Btw, Hobgoblin now comes in a different shape bottle, which means my hand-capper can now cap them rather than shearing the top off! But when my hand-capper finally expires (1980's twin-lever metal capper from Boots), I'll probably go for a bench capper.

    Fermentation fridge heater

I use a 75W reptile heater ceramic "bulb", simply because it was £2 rather than £16 for a tube heater. Maybe another £1 for the socket/holder too. Works perfectly in combination with an old desktop PC fan to circulate the air and Inkbird. But there's always the possibility it won't last as...

Make Dog Biscuits from your spent grain

That looks like a great idea, as we don't have any cows around here to feed the spent grains to. So I reckon you could make about 300 dog biscuits per brew? We're going to end up with a fat dog!

    Cheapest small batch fermenter?

Does "tamper evident lids" mean they snap if you take them off, so you only get one use out of them?

    sea buckthorn

I don't think sea buckthorn is non-native. It's been around our coasts for probably longer than humans have. Did you see Ray Mears picking it and processing it?

    Water shortage brewing.

Many many years ago when I was working for a Brewery our target was to get below 10 barrels of water used per 1 barrel of beer produced. I would guess these days it's probably about 7 barrels of water.

    2018 FIFA World Cup.

Tunisia are no pushover. In their friendly against Spain last week they defended better and created more chances, before losing to a late goal. England at their most mediocre could easily lose that one! But I think we'll beat Panama. Then anything could happen against Belgium.
