    Demijohn transfer to keg

Hi, I'm looking to start C02 transferring from my demijohn to my keg but I can't find anywhere that sells the cap/valve/cane setup. Can these even be bought as a single lot or is it kit form or just a case of buying everything separate and putting it together yourself? Any advice or help much...

    Keg pot build

Wow! As a pretty new member hoping to contribute here I now find my thread hijacked and my character in the process of being assassinated with obvious assumption's of wrong doing on my part. This keg was given to me by a friend of mine who runs and owns my local public house. If it was wrong on...

    Keg pot build

Hi all, after several attempts at brewing with kits I have decided to move onto BIAB brewing. Having looked at various pots and sizes I have found myself leaning towards building a keggle as I have a 50L keg in the garage.. I have watched lots of YouTube clips on the process however some of the...

    too eager or a disaster?

Mmmm, turned the tap and again I got the gas leaving but no brew. So gave it a shake and same result gas o brew. I've opened it up and the internal part is floating half in half out. I assume this must be fully submerged to work properly?

    too eager or a disaster?

Tried pouring a drink and got nothing other than a gas blow. What does that mean?

    too eager or a disaster?

The keg has a pressure valve fitted and is supplied with a gauge for reading (the wife got me it for Christmas) Can I use this to indicate carbonation?

    too eager or a disaster?

If it isn't holding pressure is the brew inside goosed at this point or can it be rescued by bottling?

    too eager or a disaster?

Well the Evil Dog carbonation dilemma was nothing to worry about. The beer pours well has a good head and retains its fizz as I drink it so I'm delighted. Its not overly fizzy which I like too, so I have lucked out on that to be honest.. My second brew the Razorback IPA has been primed and...

    too eager or a disaster?

Sorry for any confusion. I have two brews happening, both at various stages. The bottled beer is a evil dog IPA which I sampled after 7 days. The beer was flat with very little carbonation. So I posted here asking for advice which was kindly given and was told to leave the bottles longer...

    too eager or a disaster?

Its had 17 days at 22 degrees. Just need to let it chill now for a couple weeks. But was nice and fizzy and tasted great. Racked my Razorback IPA to the secondary fv and gotta say that tasted even better than the evil dog. A really refined hoppy IPA with brilliant flavour and aroma. Would really...

Nothing to worry about after all:0)

    too eager or a disaster?

Should say that I have a Razorback IPA on the go just now and intend to keg this brew. It comes with 100g of priming sugar. Intend to rack this off for a week then into the keg with the priming sugar. I think the sugar is measured for 23L, however I reckon I will lose about 1-2L before I go to...

    too eager or a disaster?

Will test it tomorrow then maybe on Thursday again to see what kind of reading I get. Would two days be enough to determine whether or not its finished fermentation?

    too eager or a disaster?

Ten days was yesterday passed. Still getting the odd bubble through the airlock every now and then. Is it best left until nothing is happening at all and then take a reading?

How long would you usually leave in a secondary FV? I read this was good practise for two reasons; one it makes sure fermentation has stopped and that gravity lvls are stable. Also it clears most of the trub from the first fv

    too eager or a disaster?

Lack of space in the house means I move my fv from the kitchen to the stairway. I've adapted my fv and have fitted an internal heater (tropical fish tank heater) and no matter where it goes (cold place that is) I get a constant heat of between 22-24 degrees (thermo strip reading) I need the...

    too eager or a disaster?

I racked into a secondary FV and allowed it to sit for a further week and I added finings. I thought this was the way to go after watching some youtube vids where finings where added to clear the beer. After my first attempt at brewing and having very cloudy, sedimenty, tasting beer I thought...

    Bulldog, Evil Dog Double IPA

Left it the stated week to carbonate, but its pretty flat. Asked for some advice and been reassured that one week is only a guideline on the instruction and can take anywhere up to two to three weeks to get it carbonated fully

    too eager or a disaster?

Right, ehhh guy at work brews and I spoke to him about it, he asks "Did you shake the bottles to dissolve the drops?" So eh total newbie question would this make a difference shaking or not?
