    Best all-in-one brewing system

Brewzilla gen 4 is where it's at. A lot of improvements over the gen 3. Draining from the middle too! For about half the cost of a g40.

Ace/Hopcat/Klarstein Sightglass, Sparge and Wirlpool Mod

Pretty cool! Don't forget to take off the housing after every brew to dry (or run caustic, rinse, and sanitize, then dry), it always has stuff lodged in it!

    Ace Microbrewery/Klarstein/Hopcat Pump Mod

I found a silicone cap that just so happen to fit over the tube. IIhave no clue where it came from :/ put a clamp on the end and have not thought about it since. I tested the silicone by taking a lighter to it, when I noticed it changed colour instead of melting, I chose to use it. It's worked...

    Ace Microbrewery/Klarstein/Hopcat Pump Mod

Yes. This is worth doing for many reasons. - Easily unclog pump - Use pump for pumping things like sparge water and wort for whirlpool - Allows easy access to dry after a brew day (instead of building up mold, etc) Would do again!

    Ace Microbrewery/Klarstein/Hopcat Pump Mod

Its a bit too fine, you will run into problems with mesh like that. But also don't under estimate doing a whirlpool either, with a proper whirlpool and low hopping rates for a stout or porter you could almost go without a strainer.

    Ace Microbrewery/Klarstein/Hopcat Pump Mod

For anyone wanting to do this, is 1/2 inner diameter hose that attaches to either end of the pump. I've actually been wanting to do this to make my brew day a little easier than pouring water over the top The 90 degree silicon bend came with the unit. Comes with an extra one usually!

    Ace micro brewer

I think even if it was available I would have waited for a 2nd iteration to work out any kinks. Timed start can be done with an outlet timer with my setup. It's nice that the functionality is built into the smartpid. I think if I had the choice I would still do what I did because the learning...

    Ace micro brewer

Hey dude! Ordered one off ebay. Anything with 6 pole dual rocker switch is all you need. Also noticed for all you people who have done nothing to your Ace that if water gets on the switch you'll get electrocuted! Don't ask me how I know. So be careful. They may have updated the design now but...

    Ace micro brewer

I finally installed a fan to the relay setup (I wasn't having problems). I don't know if I should post in this thread anymore seeing as my Ace is no longer an Ace since I wired it up. But I want to share with you guys :thumb:

    Ace micro brewer

I found it to be caused by a faulty temperature cut off sensor. Burnt wort accumulates on the bottom exasperating the heat built up causing the sensor to trip. I found that a sensor from a newer 3000w Guten(hopcat) fixed it right up. Bypass the sensor by unscrewing it from your kettle and zip...

    Which system should I buy?

The Ace microbrewery/Klarstein/Easybrew, etc whatever you want to call it is a good all in one system. I personally have had a terrible experience with it regarding reliability. Considering I was one of the first ones to receive it, this is not a coincidence. Since however the systems have been...

    Recirculating Mash

Herms systems are amazing at step mashing. If you did a brew in bag and allowed enough space for a pump to pull from and run it back on top that would work if you had a reliable temperature control. A lot of people including myself use a system that incorporates a metal grain basket to...

    ACE Microbrewery

Heat sink on both SSR and SSVR :) Ordered stuff for a fan already. Here's a video I did of the setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByZ46tcLVb0

    ACE Microbrewery

This is basically how I have mine wired. Relays are wired in series and heater element is wired in parallel. Switches and fuses removed for simplicity

    New Klarstein owner.

Hey Chuck it's fine. The exposed foam on some parts gets a little deformed but never melts per se. Does get quite sticky from wort so taking it apart recently I went ahead and added some double wall cardboard for even better insulation. I did that recently and found it to be more effective!

    ACE Microbrewery

I was able to rewire my ace to an Inkbird paired to an auber relay and voltage regulator. Haven't had time to test it. Maybe I will this weekend. I started this project before smartpid. Might have done that if I had waited a bit longer. Anyways, I'll keep you guys posted

    Possible Infected batch

Lots of variables, take a picture of it. Also closer inspection if it has little roots growing from it, could be!
